We have been serving the needs of backpacker’s since 2001. The hostel was built by and for backpackers to make San Juan Del Sur accessible to all budgets. We're in the center of the village, one block from the beachfront, making it a perfect base for exploring. We've become a staple in San Juan Del Sur and have evolved with the tourism ebbs and flows in this once sleepy-fishing village.
Our offerings have organically grown to include beds, shuttles, surf academy, restaurant, bar, tours, and even fine bean to bar chocolates. We are a family of for-purpose businesses dedicated to regeneration of human and environmental abundance and there are many moving parts and opportunities. Some of our high performing volunteers end up staying longer than planned, getting hired onto our staff team, or even in some cases end up buying property and moving to San Juan del Sur.
Collaborators that do best with us are self-directed, take initiative, communicate proficiently in Spanish, have an appreciation for the complexities of cross-cultural communication, and they want to be part of something greater than themselves.
Here are some of the values we live by:
-Courage is the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc. in the face of fear; bravery. It’s not about being fearless, its more about noticing fear, putting fear in its place and moving forward.
-Quality is about facilitating memorable and authentic experiences in a consistent manner, holding ourselves to the highest standards.
-Collaboration occurs when two or more people or organizations work together to realize or achieve a goal. Teams that work collaboratively can obtain greater resources, recognition and reward when facing competition for finite resources.
-Compassion is a combination of love, caring, empathy, understanding and a will to help. Compassion is unconditional, it seeks no reward. Compassion is about seeing the humanity in others and celebrating our shared humanness.
Our specific needs vary throughout the year. Bottom line, we are looking to collaborate with people who can add value, be helpful and flexible with our varying environment and businesses. Some specific roles include (but are not limited to):

Commitment is 25 hours/week for a minimum of 3 months. We welcome all types of yoga so please let us know what you teach, how long you can commit, and if you're interested in practicing Karma Yoga with us.

We have had ~100 artists to date from all over the world use our spaces as their canvas. The theme is art inspired by nature and we encourage artists to bring their own creativity and ideas. You don't have to be a 'pro,' we are passionate about empowering budding artists who wish to sharpen their skills and confidence. You could be asked to paint walls, floors, furniture, signs, etc. Commitment is 25 hours/week contributing to art work and this could be complimented by social media and/or photography work. Please let us know what your time frame is and feel free to propose a specific project when you reach out.
*️️️*️️️*️️️We have an organic farm 6km south of San Juan del Sur where we are inspired by things like permaculture, biodynamics, urban farming, mycology, beekeeping, biochar, composting, etc. We are learning new things every day and trying new experiments. Our farm is managed by a local Nicaraguan from the community of Carrizal who only speaks Spanish. This is an opportunity for someone who already has an understanding and experience with different modalities of organic farming practices. This would be a more intense engagement, working alongside a Nicaragua campesino 3 days/week for 6-8 hours/day as a helper.
We are looking for outgoing, friendly volunteers to join our awesome team. Our needs vary throughout the year but we are always looking for volunteers to help with a combination of:
-Yoga
-Art
-Social Media
-Digital Marketing
-Photography/Videography
-Guest Relations
-Proliferating regeneration in the world
Minimum age is 24.
English and basic Spanish is a must (more advanced Spanish and additional languages a plus)
We are currently looking for long term volunteers only, minimum commitment of 3 months but we would consider a shorter commitment for the right candidate.

Discounts in the Surf Shop on board rentals
Discounts in the restaurant/bar
Free shuttles to the local beaches
Free laundry 1 day per week
An opportunity to live in the heart of one of the most exciting, fun and energetic cities in Nicaragua
Please note that although the town has plenty of opportunities to party, we are not interested in hiring someone that does drugs or excessively drinks. Furthermore, we're not interested in folks who are merely trying to extend a holiday. We have a strict policy of no outside guests in the dorm beds at night and alcohol is limited to the restaurant and bar area for all guests and volunteers. We pride in having a quiet, clean environment for travelers with lights out, music off at 11pm and cleaning service 7 days a week.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje
