  Hi! I’m Tess from Columbus Ohio USA. I live over half the year in Neffies, a beautiful French village in the Occitanie. I am a English teacher, a cook and own a small rental property on the ground floor of my home.I am passionate about guests and meeting new people. I can accept couples or singles. Eclectic and a bit unconventional describes me, so I can get along with anyone who is open-minded and loves to learn. During high season, the apartment will not be available. I have a guest bedroom with a separate private bathroom (note: the washer/dryer is located in a separate room at the back of the guest bathroom). I own a small car but insurance allows only the driver and ONE passenger. If you don't have a car, I can take you sightseeing at least once a week and also take you to the grocery store and on other errands along with me. I can only have one passenger in my car.

  I am extremely knowledgeable on the history of the region and very familiar with local flea and food markets. In short, I am an outstanding guide, full of ideas no matter your interests. I am a cook, so cooking together in my large, open kitchen is definitely something that can happen if you would like to learn about the cuisine of the Languedoc. I speak French level B2, enough to communicate. Improving is a big goal!

  Private, sunny bedroom with two single beds. Bedroom is on the second floor. Full bath with shower/tub on the first floor is for my guest. During low season, apartment will be available some of the time.

  Neffies has three restaurants (Le Very Table, l'Escampette, Aux Amis) and a boulangerie, all 1 -2 blocks from my house. Guests are welcome to use my terraces including my roof terrace with stunning views. Ideal location to explore the region from beaches (30k) to many small villages that dot the landscape to towns & cities (Roujan 5k, Pezenas 11k Beziers 18k, Narbonne 58k). For breathtaking views, drive through the Parc de Haute Languedoc to the historic Cathedral town of Cleremont Hereault (20k). Neffies the Parc is actually which offers excellent hiking. Nearby Lac de Salagou (28k) is an Occitan jewel. Umbrella, mats and beach towels are available on request (no need to pack bulky stuff!). If you like brocantes (flea markets) and markets, I'm the person to know! I l always know the best ones. I look forward to hosting you in my village home in beautiful Neffies!
