Descripción
My family is building an earthship in Kasilof Alaska. Our home is located about 15 minutes away where there is hot running water, laundry facilities, internet & a garden. We have been working on it off and on for 11 years and are hoping to completely close it in this summer(2021)

Ayuda
We have an ever expanding garden and are not slave drivers. Our typical day starts with coffee or tea and a garden walk/safety meeting/ about what we'd like to work on. Some of the projects we will be working on this summer(2021) are flinging mud/filling gaps in tire walls, papercrete aluminum can interior walls, siding, water collection systems, green roofing, hempcrete/interior surface coatings, bottle wall building, gardening, entertaining/feeding kids, hessian(burlapcrete) exterior walls.

Alojamiento
Camping is available onsite at the earthship or I have limited bedrooms available at my house. Tents, campers and vans are welcome at my house as well. I have a van for transporting people to the earthship and we are just a few minutes from soldotna.
Algo más...
We are located near the Kenai and Kasilof rivers which are prime salmon fishing locations. Hitchiking is easy in Alaska in the summer and a fun way to get around. If volunteers are interested in alternative building techniques there is a lot to be learned and we love to talk about all kinds of crazy building ideas.
