Descripción
We are a restaurant that started an NGO located at Punta Sal, a beautiful virgin nature beach on the north shore of Peru. Workawayers will not help or be involved in restaurant activities.
We’ve started an organic orchard as well as an organic waste recycling program with the local community. We’re committed to reducing our climate impact by using biodegradable products, optimizing our water use and recycling our organic waste, glass and plastic bottles as well.
In the orchard we grow vegetables and fruits organically. We have several cultivation beds in soil, as well as an aquaponics system, assorted microgreens and tanks where we produce seaweed cultivation(spirulina).
For the cultivation beds, we produce our own humus through a program that we developed with the community. This program consists in the segregation and treatment of organic waste. We receive the organic waste, chip it and compost it. After that, we move the composted material and introduce it in our vermiculture system (earthworm farming) to obtain as a final result the humus that we need for the crops.
Nowadays, we also started a new project that it’s given the first steps to become something huge. We started to produce our own organic tea bags that are made with the citrus, herbs and fruits that we grow in the orchard as well as the moringa that grows in our land.
Moreover, we hold workshops with the community on various topics, such as art, writing, languages, circus, among others, on top of the artistic projects that we carried out in our place. For that reason, our doors are always open to artists of all kinds who want to share their art with us and the community (Painters, muralists, photographers, performers, etc.).

We offer the opportunity to meet and exchange with people from all over the world, especially South America, learn about the different cultures that come together in our team and travelers that relate to our project and help us grow. Also, you will be able to use the amenities of our place while living on an awesome beach, with an incredible multicultural work ambience.
Also, if you have artistic inclination and you like to paint, do murals, photography or any other art form we will give you the space and you will be welcome to express yourself.

Ayuda
We are looking for volunteers that can help us with our projects. The help consists in managing the day to day tasks, such as watering the plants, seedlings, treatment of the organic waste, weeding, maintenance of common areas, among others that involve all the current projects that we are carrying out.
Due to Workaway policy volunteers can not help or be involved in restaurant activities. We are only receiving volunteers to help us in the orchard or artists who wish to share their art with the community.

Alojamiento
You’ll be in a shared room with our staff, with a shared bathroom and shower, with separate rooms for men and women and two meals per day prepared by chefs. The beach is 2 min away from the housing. Also, as we are located near Ecuador, is pretty much always sunny and summertime.

In your day off, you can use all the amenities that the restaurant offers free of charge. There are some day trips close, as the Manglares, some medicinal mud pits, zip lines, trekking, surf, kite surf, diving, whale watching, swimming with turtles and many more adventures.

We have a pretty decent wifi and, in case we need a more powerful connection we can always request an upgrade with the carrier for a small payment.
