  Descripción

  Here at the hostel we have 13 locally paid staff. We have different roles for each one. There is the department of cleaning and maintenance. Reception, marketing, store and compare, accountant and staff that is specifically hired to take away of the volunteers and to check that everything is okay.
  Our staff will make you feel at home, we are totally flexible with the schedules, always looking to benefit the trip of the volunteers in exchange for the responsibilities being fulfilled. In the same way, volunteers will be able to interact with other volunteers to travel and meet together.

  Here at the hostal we manage to do different cultural and gastronomic activities so the guests can get to know a little bit of our culture, and workawayers can take part too, by giving workshops or learning from them. We have volunteers from different parts of the world, so it is a perfect opportunity to exchange cultures, languages and make new friendships that can last forever. At last we offer tours that can be given by workawayers (bike and markets tour) that we think it is perfect for volunteers to learn about the history and the culture of Mérida.

  Ayuda

  The help consists of several tasks, mainly organizing activities for guests, we are looking for volunteers who are willing to be entertainers in the afternoons, invite guests to participate and do fun activities for them, some days take them on a tour to see the city, beach or other interesting places. Pretty much helping us to bring this place to life with a good enviroment whre fellow travelers can connect and create memories.

  We are interested in offering Spanish and learning other languages like French and German. But we are open to other possibilities. It is very important to speak English in order to be able to communicate with each other.

  Alojamiento

  We offer accommodation to volunteers in exchange for 32 hours of help and two days off a week. We offer accommodation in shared rooms with other volunteers.
  The hostel offers breakfast for guests, and breakfast is also offered for volunteers.
  Laundry is free, we have discounts on drinks and we have bicycles.

  Along Calle 47 you can find one of the most famous coffee shops in Mérida "Cafetería Impala" that has been in the city since 1958, We're also next to the Parque La Plancha which has become an emblematic spot in the city. You can also find some of the most famous and exquisite restaurants such as Oliva, Micaela Mar and Leña and 130 degrees. In Mérida we have a great variety of bars and canteens, in the same street of the hostelthere are Bar el Catrín and Lucero del Alba. However, other bars such as La Negrita, Salón Gallos, Pipiripau and La Mezcalería are also an excellent option and are located nearby. Just 10 minutes walking is the Cathedral of Mérida - San Idelfonso, a place that you cannot miss during your stay, around the corner is the famous Santa Lucía park where you will find restaurants such as Apoalla, La Tratto and La Recova, where if you are lucky you can find troubadours, an unforgettable show. In your free time it is also an excellent option to visit cenotes, caves and beaches.

  We have a working area with internet access, tables and chairs. It is a closed space, in the mornings we ask for silence so you can work comfortably, or use our common areas and open areas where you will have a relaxed atmosphere in the afternoons.
