  Welcome to our home in the Hungarian countryside!
  
  About 25 years ago, my parents built this house with a lot of care and their own hands. They used mostly natural materials such as clay, wood, and lime, creating a very special place – warm, alive, and deeply connected to nature.
  
  The property is located next to Monostorapáti, surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the Balaton Uplands. Our home is surroundo by 18 hectares of meadows and light black acacia forests, with a large vegetable garden and a small clay hut up on the hill above the house. From there, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the volcanic hills and mountains of the region, and even Lake Balaton is only about a 25-minute drive away.
  
  Today, my mother Erika lives here and takes care of the house, garden, and land. She is a native speaker of Hungarian and German and speaks English fluently too, so you can easily communicate in any of the three languages. This place is truly her heart project, something that has grown and developed over many years. With such a large property, there are always new ideas, small projects, and opportunities to shape and improve it further.
  
  Just as important as the connection to nature is her connection to people. She is open, warm, laughs a lot, and appreciates meeting people from all over the world. For her, Workaway is not only about getting help with the ongoing projects around the house, but also about learning from each other, sharing stories, and spending meaningful time together.
  
  We’re looking forward to welcome people who appreciate nature, enjoy practical tasks, and like the idea of creating something new together. At the same time, there is plenty of space here for peace, quiet, and simply taking a breath away from everyday life.
  
  As a Workawayer, you will have your own room, good food, and the chance to experience life in the countryside surrounded by beautiful nature. Life here is simple and communal – we often eat together, enjoy conversations, and are happy to share time with people from different countries and backgrounds. At the same time, we fully respect your need for privacy and personal space.
  We children also visit my mother regularly, often with friends, so there are always new people coming and going, bringing fresh energy into the place.
  
  Depending on the season, there are different kinds of projects: gardening, growing vegetables, chopping firewood, caring for the forest and various tasks around the house and land.
  If you enjoy being outdoors, getting involved, and contributing where needed, you will likely feel very at home here.
  
  This place lives through people who come here – those who enjoy nature, bring their ideas, skills, and stories, and become part of its life for a while.

  Willkommen in unserem Landhaus im Herzen der ungarischen Natur!
  
  Vor etwa 25 Jahren haben meine Eltern dieses Haus mit viel Hingabe und eigener Handarbeit gebaut. Dabei wurden fast ausschließlich natürliche Materialien wie Lehm, Holz und Kalk verwendet, wodurch ein ganz besonderer Ort entstanden ist – warm, lebendig und eng mit der Natur verbunden.
  
  Das Grundstück liegt neben Monostorapáti, eingebettet in die wunderschöne Landschaft des Balaton-Oberlandes. Zu unserem Zuhause gehören 18 Hektar Wiesen und lichte Robinienwälder, ein großer Gemüsegarten und eine kleine Lehmhütte, die oberhalb des Hauses liegt. Von hier aus hat man einen traumhaften Blick auf die vulkanischen Hügel und Berge der Region und selbst der Balaton(See) ist nur 25min. mit dem Auto entfernt.
  
  Heute lebt meine Mutter Erika hier und kümmert sich mit viel Hingabe um Haus, Garten und Land. Ihre Muttersprachen sind Ungarisch und Deutsch, aber auch Englisch spricht fließend, sodass man sich mit ihr problemlos in allen drei Sprachen unterhalten kann.
  Das Haus ist für sie ein Herzensprojekt, das über viele Jahre gewachsen ist. Auf einem so großen Grundstück entstehen immer wieder neue Ideen, kreative Projekte und Möglichkeiten, diesen Ort weiter mitzugestalten.
  Genauso wichtig wie die Verbindung zur Natur ist für sie aber auch die Verbindung zu Menschen. Sie ist ein offener, herzlicher und gemeinschaftlicher Mensch der viel Lacht und sich über Begegnungen mit Menschen aus unterschiedlichsten Ländern freut. Für sie geht es bei Workaway nicht nur darum, Unterstützung bei den vielen Projekten rund um Haus und Grundstück zu bekommen, sondern auch darum, voneinander zu lernen, Geschichten auszutauschen und eine schöne Zeit miteinander zu teilen.
  
  Wir wünschen uns deshalb, dass dieser Ort Menschen zusammenbringt, die Natur schätzen, gerne handwerklich arbeiten und Freude daran haben, gemeinsam etwas entstehen zu lassen. Gleichzeitig gibt es hier viel Raum für Ruhe, Rückzug und die Möglichkeit, einfach einmal durchzuatmen und den Alltag hinter sich zu lassen.
  
  Als Workawayer bekommst du ein eigenes Zimmer, gutes Essen und die Möglichkeit, das Leben auf dem Land inmitten einer wunderschönen Natur kennenzulernen.
  Das Zusammenleben hier ist unkompliziert und gemeinschaftlich - wir essen oft zusammen, unterhalten uns gerne und freuen uns über Begegnungen mit Menschen aus verschiedenen Ländern und Lebenswegen.
  Dabei respektieren wir natürlich auch deinen Wunsch nach Privatsphäre und eigener Zeit.
  Auch wir Kinder kommen regelmäßig zu Besuch, oft gemeinsam mit Freunden, sodass hier immer wieder neue Menschen zusammenkommen.
  
  Je nach Jahreszeit gibt es unterschiedliche Projekte: Gartenarbeit, Gemüseanbau, Brennholz machen, Waldpflege und verschiedene Aufgaben rund um Haus und Grundstück.
  Wenn du Freude an praktischer und kreativer Arbeit hast, gerne draußen bist und mit anpacken möchtest, wirst du dich hier sicherlich wohlfühlen.
  
  Dieser Ort lebt von Menschen, die gerne Zeit in der Natur verbringen und ihre Ideen, Fähigkeiten und Geschichten mitbringen.
