"We need Volunteers"
We are a nonprofit special needs and inclusive school, for children with and without disabilities in Máncora. The school’s idea is to offer children with disabilities an individual education for better quality of life and to support the children's families, who often show social and/or economic problems too. To realize this dream, we provide teachers, physiotherapists and language therapists to the children. Therefore we can help them to improve in all areas of life.
Besides this, we are searching for solutions to solve social, economic and ecological problems. That's why we are currently involved in sustainable development projects. In strengthen gardening at the school and sensitizing the children's families to give them an option to live a more sustainable and independent, we hope for a positive influence on society.
Our vision is to raise a sensible, healthy and thoughtful generation with values of respect and supporting each other and the surrounding nature.
We are currently accepting volunteers for multiple positions:
- Teachers for special education
- Teacher assistants
- English teachers
- Arts teachers
- Therapy assistants
- Language Therapy
Volunteers are welcome to stay at our neighbouring property called the University of Environmentalism and Life; and the teacher Elizabeth's house There we have rooms for our volunteers to live in during their stay with us. There is also a kitchen for the use of the volunteers. We welcome volunteers traveling solo, with friends, or with partners.
We also have a farm which is associated with our school. We are accepting volunteers who wish to help on our beautiful goat farm located just outside of Màncora. Send us an email to find out more about this opportunity.
The hours of work for teachers, teaching assistants and on the farm are Monday-Friday in the mornings or afternoons, so you will have the entire weekend free to explore Màncora and surrounding areas.
It is preferable for all volunteers to have at least a basic level of english in order to be most effective at the school.
Since we work with children we are looking for volunteers who have experience with children and are reliable and trustworthy.

In living and working here you have the opportunity to dive deeply into the language, our everyday life, and way to work. English speaking people are rarely found here, so a basic level of Spanish is required and of course, we are happy to support you in advancing your language skills. We currently have an English-Spanish translator but Spanish knowledge is still recommended, especially working with the students
Moreover, we are a family run program, and invite you to feel at home with us.

We especially appreciate every professional, like physiotherapists, psychologists, special needs education teachers, and social workers. To work with our children and their families and/or to give some advice and ideas, how to advance our own work.
If you are not a professional or specialist, but you have any other experience in working with children, especially differently abled children, we still would love to have you here supporting our work. In that case, we want you to stay at least three months so that the children can get used to you and the other way round, too.
Besides working with our children, there is the possibility to work with the plants around the school and give support to some agricultural work and with our animals in the countryside. If you have special knowledge, which could help us realize our vision of a sustainable and healthy life consistent with nature, we would love to have you here, to exchange ideas and gain inspiration.
In the end, there is always the opportunity to create a project and collect donations. Whether it is specialized for one part of our association or the whole one.

Mancora is a beautiful beach town in the north of Peru. Known for tourism, there is always something fun to do here. Surfing, kite surfing, scuba diving, restaurants and beautiful beaches are just some of the amazing activities Mancora has to offer. It is always good weather and the sun shines almost everyday.
We are located about 20min of walking to the Mercado and 30min to the beach. In a Mototaxi you pay 3.00 Soles. There is also a few small shops near the school, where you can buy some food and other necessities.
