Hi! My name is David and I'm originally from Madrid, Spain. Me and my partner Laura, from São Paulo, Brazil, recently found a land in Portugal, specifically on Sintra area, by a magic ecosystem of cliffs, wild beaches and abundant mountains 40 min far from Lisbon.
Our aim is to live a more sustainable way of life recovering our sovereignty towards this system that we don't feel part of.
For that purpose, we are trying to use the resources that the land provides mindfully and designing a efficient system to use our energy and the energy of the land. The next steps are recovering the well to provide water, building a wood stove, planting our veggies and medicinal plants, etc.
We also want to develop areas to take care of animals, a laboratory where we want to explore some alchemy and create our natural products...

We are learning how to inhabit a land based on sustainable principles from scratch. We enter on the the land on a very wild state after more than 20 years being abandoned and little by little we are manifesting our dreams and creating life again.
Also, you can feel how it is to live on a yurt when we spend sometime on our house. There is also planned to build a teepee so we can share some experiences inside there.
About the cultural exchange that will happen when you join us, we are already a pretty multicultural couple that have lived on different areas of the world and have friends from all over. So there is already a symbiosis of cultures quite interesting which we are very honored to share with you.
At the moment we have the need of building different infrastructures. So far we have set a yurt and cleaned as much land as we were able to do. Our next steps are developing a system to get water from the well and build a dry toilet including a shower, then build a external kitchen and a secondary house to stay.
For that phase we need someone ideally who has skills and with knowledge of carpentry and bio construction that deals good with recycled materials, which we have plenty, and have experience on permaculture designs to help us designing the next steps of the land

The accommodation provided consists on a cozy room with wooden floor and roof on a village 8 min from our land, on a secondary space that we have to support our project. The village is called Penedo and its located on the middle of Sintra mountains, with a very rich heritage of old houses and a very magic and calm vibe, with a conscious community of people who does different alternative activities. The house itself has a very beautiful view of the mountains. All in all, the area is truly quiet and perfect to rest and reconnect with nature and yourself.
We will provide proper breakfasts and a lunch, usually vegan or vegetarian which local products from the region
Very near of the land you have at walking distance the Cabo da Roca, the most western point on Europe. Is a quite stunning spot to connect with the ocean and feel the atlantic winds. Also, on the surroundings there are very great spots to walk around. 10 minutes walking from the land there is the Serra de Peninha, which amazing trails to hike. And like 10 minutes walking you reach Praia da Adraga, a wild and amazing beach that we really love.
Then, 10 min by bus you are in Colares, the biggest village on the area. On 25 minutes you reach Sintra city with its amazing monuments and old castles. And if you want to hang in the city you can take a bus to Sintra or Cascais and from there commute to the centre of Lisbon all in around an hour
