My friends and I run a charity school and a farm in Nyalenda Slum - Kisumu. We have vowed in our hearts to change the face of our community by providing learning opportunity for the bottom pyramid families to enroll their children , who would otherwise miss out because of abject poverty. Because we love farming, we are growing vegetables, and corn as we look forward to kick-starting a chicken farm for meat and eggs to generate sustaining income for us.
Our work is worthy because little children from our community are able to learn and get a nutritious meal whenever they are dropped at our center. Parents and children most of whom are living positively with HIV/Aids are happily leading dignifying lives as they volunteer in our farms where they learn how to grow food and make a small wage.

There is a lot to carry away from our culture, as they will have first hand experience on the tasty local food, the warm reception and interaction with the local people in our community. Sightseeing and uninterrupted fun filled adventures in and away from town as we are 15 minutes away from the shores of Lake-Victoria and the ambient Riat & Kajulu hills perfect for steam blowing hikes and picnics. Travelers can also rent a bike around for a few shillings and ride around sight seeing in the cool of the breeze just to cite a few.

We are in need of skilled adult who can help us around with teaching, art work, skits and games around the pre-preschoolers to volunteer in our helping program. And because we rely on agriculture to make a sustaining income, we would also like to host volunteers who are passionate about farming and can help us with chicken and open field crop production.

We have a small volunteer room with a bed and clean sheets, electricity, a shower and a clean and functional washroom. Our house also has a big common kitchen and a refrigerator.
