we are looking for helpers now if interested
We are a small surf camp 40 min south of byron bay . We offer a very chilled out place . we do learn to surf and ocean and river kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. we are on the river and only 5 min walk to the surf . always looking for fun people to help
we are looking for some long term people for christmas holidays.

I stayed at the surf shack for about two month and it was an amazing time!
We helpers had lots of free time for going surfing and the work is very easy.
John really cares about us and even shared there wonderful Christmas evening with us. He also organised me on little job what helped me saving some money for my travels.

In the beginning we were planning to stay not longer than 2 weeks at the surf shack since we just have a 3 month visa and plenty of things that we still wanted to see in Australia but we really fell in love with this place and ended up staying for about 3 weeks. This place was AMAZING! I love it and will definitely come back some day! I really enjoyed my time especially in the hammock underneath the beautiful tree with view on the river <3 there was not a lot of work during the week so it was totally fair to only provide accommodation and not food. This was a great experience for us.
We had so much fun, a great and fun group and an always joking John :D
The work was very easy, you didn't have much to do, so we could relax, use the kayaks, stand up paddle boards and surfboards in our free time!

We spent 10 days here during a "busy" period. Our work was renting kayaks for 4-5 hours per day which was boring but not hard at all. If we would have stayed longer John told us we almost wouldn't have to work at all. So if you search a place to chill and surf (surfboards are available for free) you have found the right one. We spent 5 incredible days at the surf camp and if we hadnt bought the flights to WA, would definitely stay longer. The place is simply amazing with the beach nearby, you can literally fish from the back yard, the work is not hard at all and John is a really good surf teacher. Thanks a lot!
