🌿 Welcome to Our 12-Acre Haven in Beechworth!
Ciao! We’re Resi and Vince — a friendly couple living on a 12-acre lifestyle property just outside beautiful Beechworth, North East Victoria. Since moving here in 2016, we’ve planted hundreds of trees, built veggie gardens, started an orchard, and welcomed many Workawayers who’ve helped turn our little patch into something special.
Availability:
November - none
December - 1-6, 12-19
January - 5-31
February - 1-12
Housesitting: 16 February to 15 March 2026 - you will need work references to be considered for this stay.
🌱 What You’ll Be Helping With
Every day’s a little different, but tasks might include:
- Keeping the veggie patch and orchard thriving — planting, weeding, watering, harvesting
- Helping with goat and chicken care (feeding, cleaning pens, topping up water)
- Light property maintenance or DIY if that’s your thing
- We might also have one off projects, such as extending our chicken fence, some sewing and some preserving
We work around the weather — early mornings and later afternoons when it’s hot, with long lazy lunch breaks when the sun’s blazing!
🏡 What We Offer
We ask for around 21 hours of help per week in exchange for comfortable accommodation and good food (bedding and towels provided).
We mostly eat vegetarian meals or some of our own farm raised meat but are flexible — Resi used to be vegan and loves experimenting in the kitchen. If you enjoy cooking, even better!
🚲 Extras & Exploring
We’re about 6 km from town (a 20-minute bike ride — bikes available).
On your days off, explore Beechworth’s historic gold-mining streets, cycle tracks, wineries, breweries, and bushwalking trails. In winter, the alpine ski fields are about two hours away.
✨ A Little About Us
Resi (Italian, 52) is a permaculture enthusiast and veggie-growing and preserving addict. Vince (Australian, 45) loves mountain biking and home brewing, when he gets the time. We both enjoy good food, the outdoors, and a simple, sustainable life.
🚫 A Few Notes
Non-smokers only
Sorry, no pets
We don’t host helpers over Christmas and New Years Eve. (23 December to 4 January)
If you’re easygoing, love nature, and enjoy the satisfaction of hands-on work, come join us and be part of our next chapter! 🌾

*** Gardening helping hand***
Help us maintain and develop our veggie patch. Prep beds, keep the weeding up to scratch, plant seedlings out, sow seeds, water when needed and maintain the harvest.
*** Orchard and mulching hand!***
Our Orchard is in need of some TLC and your help would be great to weed, prune, mulch and setup irrigation.
Other opportunities are possible, have a chat with us about what your interests are and what you can offer.

Algo más...
If you wish to visit North East Victoria and save some money on your great Aussie experience this is something worth considering. Beechworth has got plenty of cafes and hospitality places, including two breweries, to earn some extra much needed travelling funds, and at the right time of the year, there is plenty of harvest and vineyard work for you to also gain your visa days (check postcode is allowed by your WHV> 3747) Please note we can't assist with securing any work locally.

Regional Victoria is not great for internet access - we do have reasonably good internet but is limited. Once we run out - we are out of data until the new month starts. Beechworth has a great library with free internet access which we would recommend making use off.

Espacio para aparcar autocaravanas
We live on a 12 acre block and have an outside toilet as well as access to the house facilities
