It has been a very great and creative time in Piers house with all the animals and the space to do what you like! Piers is a very sympathique Artist and he gave me the feeling being at home (so I felt like at home:)). Thanks Piers for all! I am looking forward to return!

Hannah came to help me with the bronze casting and was absolutely amazing. She started crushing and sieving clay the same afternoon she arrived! I stayed with Piers for 2 weeks (just gone) and I had an absolutely fantastic time. I went to help him with bronze casting experiments and it was a really rewarding experience. The bronze casting is still in the experimental stages but it is surely progressing!! The first week was mostly spent preparing materials: digging up clay, breaking it up and sieving through to make big buckets of useful materials. I then made lots of molds from beeswax for the experiments and small models that I also put into the furnace when it was fired (a couple of these were very successful). The bronze casting is a great thing to be part of; Piers is managing to do something that would usually cost thousands to make in an industrial way by using simpler and more natural techniques. A course like this would be expensive to take part in usually, it's fantastic that someone is willing to teach this for free in exchange help with the experiments. The experiments - I found - also help give you a better understanding of the process. whether things go really well or fail badly - each time something can be learnt about the process. If you are an art student or have an artistic background you should definitely consider contacting Piers.
All in all Piers made me feel very welcome in his home and life, I'd love to go back and visit again - I would have liked to have stayed longer if I hadn't already made arrangements for my next stay. Thanks for a fantastic 2 weeks and I hope you find someone to continue the bronze casting very soon =)Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

Jason, Nella and Ayiana were a great help! Ayiana brightened up the kitchen with lovely paintings while Jason and Nella worked really hard to completely transform the landscape around the house including: building with stone, tearing out old fence, and getting rid of tons of debris. They weren't put off by working in the scorching sun or by being

Just spent two weeks with Piers at his home in Larroque. Piers is a great host very sympathetic and flexible to all needs of his guests and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Piers enjoys having his guests getting involved in sharing the cooking, so some great meals were eaten for the first time. Encouraged our daughter to use

There is plenty of work to do regarding building stone walls, building up existing internal walls and using lime plastering techniques. The plot of land on which the house stands has huge potential, and we managed to clear a plot ready for landscaping and an outdoor entertaining area. Generally the work is physically demanding, so if you lack stamina you will need bucket fulls of enthusiasm.
The yurt and facilities are excellent, and the views are fantastic.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our whole visit, with weekends free to discover france or spain as it is only a couple of hours drive into northern spain, well worth a visit.
Highly recommend visiting Piers and giving him some help, a great guy with a project not for the shy or retiring type.Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.
