We spent the last 11 days at Matthew and Louise's place, and honestly, time flew by so quickly that we wished we could have stayed longer.

We had a great schedule, they were extremely generous with groceries, very accommodating with drives, and provided great recommendations for the surrounding area. I spent a week in Wicklow on Louise and Matt's property, and had a great stay. The accommodation was perfect, being a one-bedroom cabin with a kitchen, living space (which was used as a second bedroom for another Workawayer during my stay), and a bathroom with a shower that always had hot water.

… read more of DIY projects such as painting and varnishing, which I enjoyed as I could pop on a podcast to listen to while I worked in the sun. I found Louise and Matt to be very friendly and approachable, and they were happy to drop and pick me up from Wicklow Town (about 25 min drive away) whenever I needed.
While I appreciated having lots of time to myself to relax and explore the countryside, this may not be the place for you if you're a person who needs company or gets lonely, as they are a busy family. However, if you are a person who wants to spend time in a beautiful location but can be self-sufficient, you will really appreciate your time here like I did. We stayed two and a half weeks with Louise, Matthew and their family. Our accomodation was lovely. We had a chalet in the garden with our own bathroom, kitchen and living room to ourselves and it was very private, cozy and quiet. … read more town whenever we asked for it. They were also kind of private as a family and we didn't really spend time together. So unfortunately there wasn't much of an exchange. So if you are looking for a place where you'll be included in the family life and have some cultural exchange, then that won't be the right place for you. But if you are happy to spend a lot of time with yourself and enjoy a private and cozy accomodation and cooking for yourself, you will be able to have a very nice time here. That's why we would recommend the place for couples or two friends and not so much for just one person.

Louise e Mathew they are great hosts, they are always available to help and answer questions. They made us very comfortable to do the work, they also provided the food we asked for. … read more Thank you very much for the hospitality. Wicklow It is a lovely and very green place, the house of Louise is close to the beach, they provide bicycles so you can go to the beach whenever you want, it is really a very beautiful place. we love this experience ❤️
Not to forget, they have a very cute kitten, if you are friendly he will probably live with you in the accommodation that Louise and Mathew provide, the house is big and cozy, it really has everything you need. The days were great you can study, in a quiet and comfortable place, and also walk in nature.

Me and my friend Iside stayed with Louise and Matthew one month and it's been amazing!
The place is awesome, if you want to dive into Irish nature it's perfect for you. On one side you have magical green fields with horses, donkeys and sheeps while on the other side, just a few minutes by bike, there is the sea and a beautiful beach.

… read more was never too much, mostly tidying and cleaning the house but also some good wall painting and even gardening. The accomodation is fabulous and you are going to have everything you need (beautiful private bedroom, kitchen and bathroom). If you need something Louise and Matthew are always very kind and ready to help.
I would suggest this place if you are travelling with a friend or if you have absolutely no problem to spend a lot of time on your own. It is great if you want to relax and enjoy Irish nature but if one evening you want to party a little there is also a Pub (with live music) a few minutes by bike.
Thanks again Louise and Matthew (and your beautiful children!) for this amazing month, for being so caring (with us but also with everyone else) and, above all, thanks Louise for taking me and Iside at the memorable painting lessons with those lovely people! I miss everything already, hope I can come back one day.
