I had a fantastic time with Cheryl and Murray for the two weeks I spent at their farm. I learned something new every day, and I felt the work they had me doing was very rewarding, productive, and satisfying. I did a combination of working in the garden, feeding the animals, helping with yard work, driving their ATV, cooking, power washing, making

Thank you both so much for everything :)Dejado por el anfitrión para el workawayer (Madeline)
Madeline formally known as Mickey was one of our best helpers ever. A person easy to get along with, a great sense of humor, and was helpful in so many ways. We worked hard on landscaping, taking care of the animals, along with canning fruit and vegetables. We also managed some mosaic artwork for fun. We threw in some camping, Mammoth Cave, and I

Conner stayed three weeks at our farm and he was helpful in many amazing ways. We accomplished a major task, such as setting up a rain barrel system at our third barn in order to keep our pig happy as possible. He drove the tractor, he planted in the greenhouse and did some adventurous cooking.

I spent 4 weeks on the farm during the winter (February). I had the opportunity to work on finding many practical solutions to practical problems. I found that I wasn't simply executing tasks but really contributing with my own ideas. Cheryl likes to hear different ideas and I enjoyed that.

My stay with Cheryl and Murray was absolutely wonderful. Their farm is quaint and tranquil, their house warm and cozy. My girlfriend Irene and I stayed in their motor home, which was comfortable and gave us plenty of privacy. While there I helped cleaning pastures, made a chicken coop, worked on a greenhouse, among other tasks and projects. One of

Mathew landed on the top of the pile as a worker on our farm. I will mention just a few of the talents he brought to the farm, but could easily go on. His organization skills were top notch. Although he had no experience or knowledge about wood working, he picked up the skill easily, listened to instruction, and learned quickly keeping safety in

He had never worked on a miter saw, tables saw, drill press or many of the tools in our shop before but undertook and COMPLETED a new chicken coop that had to be revamped. I can comfortably say now that he can manage all of the tools mentioned without any intervention. When you think about this fact, (as it took me many years) it is truly quite amazing.
Fluent in Spanish, with an unbiased soul, musically talented, who makes a mouthwatering carrot cake well that about sums it up as one of the best workers we have ever had on this farm.

I stayed at Cheryl's farm for about two weeks, and I wish I could have stayed for longer! 😭
We had a blast! Cheryl and Murray made me feel welcomed from day 1, and they always made sure that we were happy and comfortable. My boyfriend Matthew and I slept in their 70's style motorhome and we enjoyed it. They taught us a lot about carpentry and DIY

Cheryl is full of energy, so much fun to be around and an excellent cook, I learned so much just from seeing her cook delicious meals. She also made sure that we were in contact with the culture there in Kentucky, which I valued soo much! We visited a lot of farms in the surroundings and we spent one night in Nashville, and it was great!
Gracias Cheryl, Murray, and Thomas!

Irene came on the farm with a huge smile on her face.
She was motivating for us and ever so talented in ways that I can barely comprehend.
She happily brought them all to the table.
Like a few workers that come to the farm as students or working remotely, she never let that interfere with the daily work tasks, which shows not only respect for us
… read more and the farm but true perseverance. She learned many wood working tools, and once taught I did not have to worry about her considering safety. In other words I could leave her and Know that she would be just fine and come to me with any questions or concerns. She worked with the other people on the farm with consideration, talking things out and coming to a common solution.
Staying a little over two weeks, she will now come back as a friend. If you writes you to come to your projects, SNAP HER UP!

Struck Gold Again!!
Samantha with her sharp wit, was just a joy to have around. She took on every task with relish, and hung in until completion. She was a leader in a big project with raised beds and other helpers and it was a relief for me.
She’s a cheesy kind of gal.....when it comes to her diet :) and we had lots of laughs.
Thanks again
