Everyone was lovely and welcoming from the moment I arrived and made me feel a part of the amazing community they have built, which I was definitely a bit sad to leave, but I am looking forward to returning to take part in a course or to volunteer again in the future.

I knew that the work would be tough on the hands as I was one of the few volunteers selected to help get the camp back into shape for the upcoming season, but what I did not expect was the warm and affable embrace of the staff I interacted with. … read more going above and beyond to make sure me and the other volunteers had what we needed, Alessandro and the other staff at the camp displayed an warm openness difficult to come by in WorkAway experiences such as these. Overall, it was bittersweet to leave such a cool experience like this, bitter in that I was really blossoming as 'one of the guys' there, but overall sweet because the memory of this camp and the people I interacted with here will last a lifetime. Besides that, I can say the accommodations were cozy. My cabin was comfortable, the camp facilities were manageable for being the time of year we were in, and the scenery surrounding the camp is beyond words. There is so much for an outdoorsy person to do! Alessandro was more than generous as a host to make the WorkAwayer feel at ease, not only with the work, but also during one's free time. He offered to show us the authentic Sardinian towns and areas, as well as give us an option to explore on our own. He made sure we had the types of meals and snacks as needed, and even took us to local joints to try more authentic Sardinian food. Even the experience sailing on one of the yachts with the staff was unforgettable. Such a truly wonderful experience altogether. If one is lucky enough to have the opportunity to come here, you will not regret it. I can promise you that. Grazie infinite to all at the camp who made me feel like one of the team 🫶🏻.Fotos

I helped out during preseason (march) where working hours were usually 9-12 and 15-18 which gave me time to rest during the day and night time, spend time at the beach in my free-time, and hang out with a wonderful group of people over dinner. I wholeheartedly recommend it!
I spent 3 weeks her in June, and then returned for another 10 days in September. It felt so good to come back, I truly felt like I was returning to a place where I had spent years before. At the camp, I met many kind and friendly people. Alice and Alessandro are wonderful hosts!!
My tasks at the camp included
… read more keeping the communal areas and the outdoor kitchen clean, doing the dishes, assisting with breakfast, lunch, and dinner preparations, and coordinating the kids at the camp who helped with these tasks.
The work is physically not demanding at all, the hardest part might be the early mornings, for those who struggle with getting up early. There's always something to do, but I personally really enjoyed doing anything, and there is plenty of free time as well.
The camp area has two beaches, so you can alternate between them. The beaches are very close, you can easily hop over for a swim even before breakfast, and the sunrise from the closer beach is absolutely beautiful!!
I also had the opportunity to sail a couple of times. The first time, I spent two days on a bigger boat with Luigi and Serena, and then during my last week, I was able to attend a 3-day course on an RS Quest. I loved it!!!
You’ll sometimes find yourself in a situation where everyone around you speaks Italian :)) , which, personally, I didn’t mind at all, and I didn’t feel uncomfortable. As an introvert, I don’t crave constant interaction, and on the other hand, it gave me the opportunity to learn the language, especially with the help of my Spanish knowledge.
I have so many wonderful memories from my time there: the first Italian word I learned (spazzare) / Sergio’s delicious food and singing voice / olive oil / ping-pong battles with Luigi and Sam / Alice’s carefree dancing by the office table / Alessandro explaining clouds / mirto / Serena “speaking English very well and everywhere” / Maxi’s drawing he made for me / chats with Laura / the first stick insect I’d ever seen / amazing sunrises / morning swims in the sea / SPAZZOLINA / the Italian tongue twister I learned (I still remember it!!)
A huge thank you to Luigi for all the wonderful conversations, the pingpong games, and for teaching me the tounge twister and the sailing terms in Italian!:)

I spent a month in this incredible place... During this time, I slept in a roulotte which I found very comfortable and fun... The camping facilities are very good, and the best part is that there are amazing beaches to visit during free time.

… read more viewpoints, and it’s easy to agree with him to work comfortably. He provided me with everything necessary to carry out the tasks, and there is also a very complete workshop with all kinds of tools available.
The whole team is spectacular, I made great friends, we shared beers at the campsite, and also went out together to Porto Pollo a few times, which was very fun... Sergio prepares excellent meals, which we shared every day with the staff.
During my time there, I was able to take sailing lessons and learned a lot. I also had the opportunity to sail several times and even have picnics on different islands...
Overall, it was an amazing experience, 100% recommendable if you like the beach, learning to sail, and having good times with people from all over the world.

The sailing school was my first Work Away experience and was absolutely amazing. Coming from Hawaii where Ohana (family) is important in the culture, I found the same sense of family here. Although I only speak English I was able to immerse myself into the experience very well. My tasks were primarily to assist the chef with daily meal preparation
… read more for the staff and visiting sailing students. I prepared the eating areas and supervised students with clean up 3 times a day, from 7am to about 9:30 pm daily. Long breaks were available daily between meals and I was able to enjoy the nearby beaches, kayak or go hiking. Accommodations are comfortable in a variety of types from rustic cabins with bunk beds to renovated camper/caravans. There was also a nearby small campground market if I needed anything and all my food was provided to me by the sailing school. I’m very happy I chose this as my first Work Away experience, I feel I made lifelong friends there and I hope one day to return again and volunteer there. I left the campsite a couple of days ago and I'm already thinking about when to return hahah :)
Very happy to have shared my first experience with these guys.
I learned a lot of Italian by talking to them but communication was easy anyway because several of them speak Spanish or English too.
I had the beautiful opportunity to go out with them on a boat, the water is simply spectacular. Also, the camping is right next to the beach.
The tasks to be carried out are simple and there is also free time to do whatever you want, they are open to sharing time with the volunteers... and also sharing some beers!

For volonteers and instructors differents options for sleeping (tents, bunkbeds or caravans). Not necessarily need a car but it is a plus to have it if you want to reach the town (less than 10minutes aways) independently.
And last but not least, the young, fun-loving team (aka mickla, the best of them all) is a real plus. I felt directly integrated, despite the fact that I'm a beginner in Italian.
