A family with the Chinese background who runs a guest house/ hostel in Old Chinatown Melaka.
I like cycling and travel, and meeting new friends and traveler from around the world!
**Please check availability before applying. We prefer that volunteers apply closer to their arrival date (no more than a month in advance) in case you have a change of plans**

You will get to live in one of the heritage town in Malaysia and understand the people, culture and multi religions.

If you are a backpacker, student, traveler who wants to work while travelling,
We offer you free accommodation, coffee, tea, bicycle, free wifi. We do not provide food.
We are looking for friendly people and also who able to take responsibility at work to join our big family,
Volunteering period: We are looking for volunteers to help with reception and leading activities. There are 3 reception shifts per day all 4.5 hours long from 8:00am-12:30pm, 12:30pm-5:00pm, and 5:00pm-9:30pm. Once you've been trained you can pick which shift you'd like. Activities include a local Tuesday market, going to the gym/pool, taking guests to a Sikh temple and leading the bike tour.
Work scope can be vary from helping with checking in/out, gardening and cleaning, entertaining and giving help to the guests and so. It will be an extra if you are passionate in cycling. No experience needed, we will provide training.
We don't care about your gender, your religion or where you are from.
Most importantly, positive attitude above all.

We are looking for a volunteer for our fun backpacker hostel in the heart of beautiful Malacca, Malaysia and thought you might be interested! (Aged 24-65 preferred, we are also no longer taking couples)
Volunteers will be responsible for various duties, such as reception work, cleaning and maintenance, social activities, and guest services. They will work under the guidance of hostel staff and will be expected to follow hostel rules and procedures. (with shift system). You may also bring the guests out for the dinner and bicycle and make sure everyone has a great time! (Cycling tour guidance will be provided, tour money will be shared with the volunteer who guides the tour)

We would like a commitment of at least 2~3 week to one month, ideally more. and for sure, we won't care about you gender, you religion and where you from , more important is you working attitude and friendly,
Note: Once we confirm your duty, please be punctual on the date you promise, a few days delay acceptable with notice, otherwise we will write a BAD comment on your page. This applies for the date you leave as well, let us know if you plan to leave earlier than the agreed date.

It was my first volunteer work and I felt very well. The team worked a lot together, the tasks were understandable and howard took great care of everyone. This has truly been a great experience. Howard, the owner, makes sure you're having a good time. My usual day consists of doing a bike tour, going out to lunch with other cyclists here, and then in the evening watching a movie on Howard's very impressive SSD (around 1000 movies on there...).
