Hello hosts and fellow workawayers!
I am Maggie, a 28 year old from Queensland, Australia currently travelling North America.

On this journey I seek cultural exchange and connection. I hope to learn something new everyday (about myself, another individual or about a different culture to my own).

What brings me joy is being able to make other people laugh!!
I am always grateful for the opportunity to spend time in nature, at the beach or surrounded by art.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

- I have five years professional/corporate experience in the Australian finance & banking industry. A lot of these soft skills are transferable such as problem-solving, good time management, negotation. I can also teach about personal finances and Excel/Microsoft Office skills.
- Certified 200-hour yoga instructor, always interested in gaining more natural therapy skills too.
- I've acquired serving, housekeeping and barista experience through previous volunteering positions.
- My first job was in Retail (5+ years) and I have excellent customer service skills.
- I am an amateur (but enthuasiastic!) photographer. (While travelling I only use my phone camera but I don't think this limits the images I capture). I am happy to apply these skills to social media marketing and have done so with previous volunteering positions.
- As I hobby I also create acrylic pours and acrylic paintings and would be interested in creating murals.
- I love the outdoors, gardening and caring for plants and animals. I love puppies and have acquired knowledge of dog-training through volunteering.
- I recently renovated an apartment - taking on as much of the labouring, carpentry, plastering, tiling, painting and general maintenance. I am a self-taught renovator and always looking to learn more!
- I have taught English to kids - focusing on confidence in speaking through creative game-play.

- I enjoy vegan cooking and baking - learning about plant-based alternatives to traditionally meat- or dairy-based meals is a hobby of mine
- I have a strong interest in drag performance and queer art

My bucket list/travel goals are:
- complete my Yoga teaching certification (completed in India, 2024)
- complete my PADI open water diving certification (completed in Thailand, 2024)
- learn the basics of permaculture
- gain basic Spanish language proficiency while living in a Latin American homestay
- improve surfing in Sri Lanka
- gain my TEFL certification and work in Japan or Taiwan
