We are an intercultural marriage we have a nice dog Shelter having currently around 70 dogs located in the mountain area of Peru (Carhuaz) altitute about 2700 m located 35 minutes from Huaraz city. We started this project on November 2021 after many pets were abandonned due to pandemic crisis. This project is part of a private charity.
We also own a beautiful Eco Hotel, the income of hotel is destinated to cover dog shelter expenses and is also the place where we hosts volunteers. In hotel we grow trees and have animals: alpacas, chickens, rabbits ( they are only pet, we are vegetarian). Areas of eco hotel that are designated to volunteers should be always keep in order and cleanliness so everybody will feel comfortable

This region in known as the peruvian Switzerland. Perfect place for people who enjoy trekkings, turquoise lagoons, blue sky and best view of Andean Mountains. You will interact will local people, learn some words and expressions in Quechua and Spanish, learn about farm animal take care, gardening, try local food etc.

Want easygoing, responsible and organize volunteers. Honest people that dont mind working with hands and focus on tasks as we work in charity. The main part of the time volunteers are assign to dog shelter supporting in cleaning, animal care , spending time with dogs and give love, taking them out for a walk and so on.
Some other tasks will be assign due to neccesity regarding maintenace, organizing, cleaning and others
Please be aware that cleaning involves removing dog poop from their living area so if your idea of working at a shelter is mostly cuddling puppies, you will be disappointed. Please only contact us if you are willing to work hard and give 100% of effort
Other habilities we are interested on: photography, video and editing, artwork in mural, grafitti , painting.
Also duties in reception and construction will be assign if needed
All our dogs are very friendly to people and they love to receive attention and care.

Accommodation is located 2 blocks away from dog shelter. Shared dorm room, capsule style for single travelers and private for couples, if available. Dedicated bathroom for volunteers. Kitchen and tv cable, wifi.

Levi has a very positive attitude and is always kind to others. During his stay in our place he took care or our dogs, keep the spaces clean and safe also walk them and of course provide love.
