We are Tiziana and Roberto, and in 2011 we decided to move to a hilltop with a vision of living efficiently and self-sustainably. We are located in the Trebbia Valley, which Ernest Hemingway once described as ‘the most beautiful valley in the world.’ We have some horses, a donkey, and a mule. A few years ago, we also started a permaculture project. Our approach is always eco-friendly, making the most of the resources available on our land.
This year marks our eleventh anniversary of hosting volunteers.

Our place is situated atop a hill, 600 meters above sea level, offering a breathtaking landscape. The nearest village, with shops and bars, is 9 km away, and there is no public transport service connecting our home to the village. During their free time, helpers can explore the surrounding mountains or walk down to the river for a swim.
To ensure a genuine help exchange experience, we kindly request that helpers commit to a minimum stay of TWO WEEKS.
The common language spoken among helpers and hosts is English.

As part of our lifestyle, we are passionate about ecological building and sustainable practices. We offer a collaborative environment where everyone learns from each other, and we welcome discussions about ecological construction, natural materials, and self-sufficient living.
General seasonal tasks:
Spring: General help, grass cutting in common areas, and ongoing gardening activities.
Autumn: Maintenance and firewood collection in preparation for winter.
We always welcome artists and musicians.
Please note that we do not have horses available for riding.

Acomodação
Accommodation for helpers consists of a room with two (or more) beds, equipped with a fire stove for the colder months.
Helpers typically dine with the hosts, who primarily prepare Italian cuisine. While our diet is mostly vegetarian, we are not strictly vegetarian; however, vegetarians have never encountered issues with our meals. We appreciate a degree of flexibility. Helpers are always encouraged to cook and share their own traditional dishes, which is greatly appreciated.
We do not host digital nomads.
