Angel and Roger were amazing! We quickly became friends. They worked their tails off on our project. Roger is an awesome cook. Enjoyed his cooking. Angel got really good at stucco and became best of friends with Susan. We do hope to see them again soon. Bless you both.
Terry and Susan were amazing hosts. Kind, considerate, and fun. The house is even more interesting in person, everywhere you look there is some cool, eye-catching feature. I can't wait to see how the project comes along. We learned a lot, the tasks were varied, and the location can't be beat. We arrived as Workawayers, quickly became friends, and

It was so much fun staying with Susan and Terry, who are so welcoming, considerate, and playful! Their house is made of creativity and wisdom :) I helped cover the walls made of sandbags with stucco, took apart a window with glass bottles that needed re-do, unscrewed some nails from the floor, painted a wood boat... The workload is not heavy and

It was a real pleasure having Xin here for the 2 weeks as planned. Wish she could of stayed longer. Always with a quick smile or laugh. Great job in all the tasks she was asked to do. Wish her all the luck and safe travels wherever the wind blows you to next. Hit us up if you want to come back. Would love to have you here again.

Terry and Susan were very generous, went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and we ended up staying longer than we initially planned. We consider ourselves lucky for being able to help Terry and Susan build their earthbag home. During our relatively short stay, we helped with filling and stacking earth bags (some of this required throwing cans of dirt!), setting down wire (to hold the earth bags in place), as well as helping pour concrete for some foundational beams. Both Susan

Red the dog liked us being around all the time and kept us safe from the turkeys . We wish Terry and Susan a successful rest of the building project and are excited to see how it turns out. Ben and Marina were super nice and so helpful. They helped with the last rows of our earth bag home. Ben was so nice in taking the lead in this build. Marina was a huge help. I had an amazing time while staying with Sue and Terry!
It was great to learn about earthbag building while being supervised by a (very strict) turkey. They showed me around the area and the food was delicious. I stayed longer then I first intended to.

Brendan was a great person. Always willing and helped so much on clearing the hillside, gardening, construction work and there was nothing he could not do. He was always willing.
Brendan was polite and he liked to buy us coffee and he enjoyed the meals we made. This experience we had with Brenden was a huge positive in every way. Terry enjoyed

If he did not know how to do something he would google it. He fixed our chop saw stand and repaired the weed eater. No job was to huge for him. He cleared out the hillside and found some areas we could not get to and discovederd different trees on the property. He worked when it was his days off. He sure enjoyed all the agates he found and time he had exploring around the area.
We wait for his return. The animals will miss him. They all spent time with him.

This was my first stay on WA. Originally planned to stay with Sue and Terry for a few weeks, ended up staying 10 weeks. I don’t think I could of chosen better hosts for my first.
Sue and Terry are compassionate and caring. I immediately felt like family.
They both are amazing in the kitchen. Every meal was delicious and well balanced. Sue’s
… read more salads will be dearly missed. Fairly sure my plate was empty after every meal.
Terry’s skill and knowledge in construction are unmatched. The expertise and guidance he offers will ensure you learn as much as you are willing.
Sue’s mastery of plants is showcased in her greenhouse as well as her garden. Her artwork around the house is amazing. Paintings and mosaics, Sue knows how to put the final touch on things to truly give it that unique look and homey feel.
Work. Helped build a storage shed/shop. Cleared weeds and bushes. Deconstructed the old section of the home and trenched in the foundation for the new earthbags. Always something to do, made work enjoyable day after day.
The animals. The dogs are awesome, all have such varying personalities. I’ll miss each one of them.
Pet turkeys were a ton of fun. Such unique and fun animals to have around.
The location. I walked to the beach everyday. Tide pools and agate hunting never got old.
It’s safe to say this experience has gifted me two lifelong friends. Already looking forward to visiting again. Thank you both for everything.Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.
