I grew up in China, and I've studied in the U.S. for seven years. I studied Psychology at college, and I love meeting different people and seeing the world from different perspectives. I love learning new things and I like to learn from experience. I've been to many countries: Ethiopia, India, UK, France, Spain, Germany, Israel... I LOVE ADVENTURES.

I love swimming and diving. I'm also very interested in any type of dancing, having tried Ballet, Modern Dance, and Contact Improvisation. I have practiced Vipassana meditation and Yoga. I rode horses and tried Brazilian jiu-jitsu. I have moderate hiking and camping experience. LOVE nature and adventures!

It was so much fun staying with Susan and Terry, who are so welcoming, considerate, and playful! Their house is made of creativity and wisdom :) I helped cover the walls made of sandbags with stucco, took apart a window with glass bottles that needed re-do, unscrewed some nails from the floor, painted a wood boat... It was a real pleasure having Xin here for the 2 weeks as planned. Wish she could of stayed longer. Always with a quick smile or laugh. Great job in all the tasks she was asked to do. Beautiful nature and wonderful community!! I'm going to miss the four hour daily meditation, tea time, dharma talks, community day, caves and hikes!! Henrik and Talia are very supportive and resourceful, full of wisdom, and the monk! This is the best place if you're looking for peace and tranquility, and don't miss the full-moon hike ;)

I feel so lucky for staying at Laurence’s place in New Orleans. She is humorous, caring, and knowledgeable. Xin pronounced “sheen” is such a joy. Full of gratitude, warmth, discipline and smiles. I miss her deeply. She was up to any task out to her and learned very quickly. Her job never got in the way of her work trade and she is a great communicator. I miss her tons. Come back!!

Xin was a great addition to the volunteer crew in the weeks leading up to to the place. It's the busiest time of the year for doing things. On top of increased tourism, gardening, animal care, there is a huge festival for 15,000 people to prepare for. Jeff was wonderful!! He was humorous, patient, and experienced. ;) I learned a lot from him, sailed a little, and met his friends. He also plays the guitar and dances! Hope to stay with him longer in the future! However, I guess this is not very typical Workaway experience. I'd suggested ask more about the situation and be prepared in advance.
