Akwaaba! We’re so glad you found our profile page.
We are MentorHer Ghana, a nonprofit organization based in Obomeng, located in the beautiful Kwahu region of Ghana. Since 2019, we have been dedicated to supporting and empowering teenage girls, helping them reach their full potential and build a better future for themselves and their communities.
Our 1.5-year mentorship program takes place every Saturday and Sunday and offers secondary school girls inspiring and educational sessions focused on self-development, entrepreneurship, and digital literacy/technology. Throughout the program, we cover essential topics that contribute to personal growth and self-confidence, such as self-reflection, affirmations, setting boundaries, expressing opinions, and public speaking. These are subjects that are often not addressed in school or at home but are crucial for building independence and confidence. Through workshops, sisterhood sessions, and hands-on training, we help them develop these skills and seize opportunities that once seemed out of reach.
At MentorHer Ghana, we believe that real change starts with the entire community. That’s why we collaborate with local communities and schools to empower not just girls, but their whole environment. Our goal is to make a lasting impact by making mentorship, education, and empowerment accessible to everyone.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

Help Strengthen Our Community!
What contribution can you make to our community? We are eager to learn about your skills and ideas!
We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic volunteers with a background in social work or education who want to contribute to the growth and development of our community. There are many opportunities: maybe you have experience working with the elderly, know how to connect people in the neighborhood, or can support at the preschool or high school. Do you have other ideas? Our community offers plenty of room for initiative and creativity!
In our MentorHer Ghana program, you will support weekly sessions focused on self-confidence, entrepreneurship, digital literacy, and creative skills. Since our girls' program takes place on Saturdays and Sundays, you can take two weekdays of your choice off. In addition to working with the girls, there is space to contribute in other ways. Together, we will find the best way for you to make a meaningful impact and create a well-balanced weekly schedule that fits your strengths.
Are you someone who takes initiative, brings in new ideas, and wants to make a real difference? Then we are looking for you!
By volunteering with us, you will create a lasting impact while experiencing the vibrant culture and stunning nature of Ghana’s Kwahu region. Together, we inspire, educate, and empower the next generation!Idiomas hablados

You will be staying with our family, giving you the opportunity to experience authentic life in Ghana. Our house is built around a small courtyard, providing you with your own private space while not staying directly inside our home. This offers you both privacy and the chance to engage closely with family life.
We provide simple yet comfortable accommodation for our volunteers. You will have a private room with essential amenities to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The room includes:
• A bed with clean sheets for a good night's sleep.
• A ceiling or standing fan to keep you cool on warm days.
Your room is clean and secure, ensuring you have a comfortable place to relax after a day of activities. You will also have access to shared bathroom facilities and a cooking area.
Regarding meals: once a week, you will receive ingredients so you can prepare your own breakfast daily. We also provide clean drinking water. Dinner will be taken care of and mainly consists of local dishes, with room for adjustments based on volunteers' preferences.Algo más...
Kwahu is a great location for first-time volunteers coming to Ghana, as it is situated between the capital, Accra, and the second-largest city, Kumasi. This makes it easy to arrange transportation to all parts of Ghana. Within the Kwahu region, affordable shared taxis are commonly used, and there are also small buses with air conditioning and trotros (minibuses) traveling to the big cities.
We find it very important that you respect the local people and their culture. We warmly welcome Workawayers who are open-minded and curious to learn. This project gives you the opportunity to share your skills while also learning from the local community and Ghanaian culture.Un poco más de información
