This was our first ever work away experience and we couldn't have wished for a better first host! We stayed for about two weeks and helped with putting tiles in the garden. The work was varied, which kept things exciting- Whether it was taking on home projects, being outside with a wheelbarrow and spade or spending time with Zoé (who is such a bright and imaginative little soul), there was always something engaging to do. I especially loved how flexible and collaborative the environment was. I also learnt a lot of life skills.
Juni and I had some wonderful conversations that I will cherish and carry with me forever.
Andreas's quirky and artistic self made working alongside him also so enjoyable. And lastly, but by far not least, Zoé was an absolute delight—curious, creative, and full of joy. Playing and creating art with her was pure fun.
They all made it so welcoming to learn and participate in their eco-friendly lifestyle.
For anyone looking for an experience filled with meaningful projects, warm people, and the chance to live sustainably and naturally, I couldn’t recommend this family enough. I feel so grateful to have been part of their journey, even for a short time. I hope to stay in touch!

It was a godsend to have Ali here while Andreas was travelling. She jumped right in with both feet and did it like a pro workawayer. … read more tasks to conquering some of the big items on our never-ending to do list. Zoé and Ali were friends at first sight which was a big help as well. She genuinely enjoyed playing imagination games and creating art with her; she even would come over on the weekends and hang out with Zoé for an hour or so because to her it wasn’t work. She also was so good as taking her solo time which is a relief especially in the evenings when quiet time is so desperately needed. We love when our volunteers make themselves at home and display a high level of independence. In the time we did spend together, the talks were very nice. Ali is so open and trusting. For me, Juni, it was enlightening and enjoyable to have had so many interesting conversations that were more like the kind between very close friends. we got the best views !! from our land you can see the sea (30 minute drive) and the whole bahia de cadiz with all it's towns stretching along the horizon: Chiclana, San Fernando, Cadiz, Puerto Real and Puerto de Santa Maria

Tasks that I did included among others: mozaïc work, making (the best) hot sauce, and of course playing with Zoé, their amazing daughter! During my stay I got to see many places in the region, like Cádiz and Conil, and Juni and Andreas often offered to give me a ride to the bus station, which I really appreciated. Also, they make the best vegan food I have ever had, so you won’t even be missing dairy or meat! She took time to explore the area and also seem to make herself at home. It’s not easy living off the grid giving up the comforts of a daily shower for example but she was willing and we fully appreciated that willingness. They kept their word and upheld their commitment even when it potentially jeopardized their future trip plans. I was intrigued by their bohemian ways and their big dreams to sail across the Atlantic. For being a decade younger, I admired them like two wise old souls. They knew so much and had a beautifully calming energy that was just what I needed around here during their stay. Being a part of Juni's, Andrea's and Zoe's home for two week was a gift.
It's a remote place where you can feel the taste of simplicity and quiet but colorful life. Juni made us feel at home straight away and she really is a chef, you can be sure to eat quality food everyday, and share nice and meaningful conversation.

… read more able to adapt to a way of life that implies no waste of water and electricity. Also the first bus is at 15 minutes walk (10 if you run) from the house, Juni was often helpful to make our way to the town easier but you have to be aware of that. If those things are not a problem for you and it fits with what you are, then you will have the greatest time there.
We stayed two weeks there mainly to take care of their wonderful pet family, and they are all a delight ( two lovely rats, two beautiful ducks, two invisible rabbits and the Queen Minou, and last but not the least some tiny Alien that looks like wood stick).
We hope we were able to bring something nice and valuable to their paradise.
If you love to be autonomous, to work in the garden or being creative, or like to help with building, while being in a quiet place and live ecologically, this is a place to be and feel at home..
Again we only saw Juni for a week or so and Andrea and Zoe for two days, but they were all warm-heart and Juni full of little beautiful attentions. We could not expect a better place to be.

It is easy to drive to the city by bus and plan trips to the area (Cádiz, Conil, Vejer, Beaches, …)

It's is true what is written in the description: I never felt overworked, it felt more like doing fun things together like finding the best recipes for Andreas Chili-Sauces, painting the house together before the rain comes and so on. It never got boring as almost every day there was sthg different to do.
Juni and Andreas are amazing chefs and it felt like being in a fancy vegan restaurant every time they cooked!
Also Zoé is a wonderful and curious child and was very open from the first moment and fun to play with.
For me also the whole off-grid life was a beautiful experience and I learned to appreciate sun on a different level as it means electricity for the whole house and I became more aware of how little water one actually needs.
I highly recommend to stay at Junis, Andreas and Zoés place in Chiclana if you wanna meet three beautiful people and help them to realise their dream!

I'm very happy to had help to continue the building work and in the garden, i felt all the gratitude from Andre and Juni and this thing made me satisfied and gave me more energy to work. We created a excellent team and we exchanged knowledge and suggestion to continue the different projects in the best way, we took brake to jump in the pool or drink a coffee so for me the work was balanced in the right way.
They introduce me to Vegan food and I'm very glad because i discovered new recopies and taste and to eat with more consciousness, every meal was really good and i enjoyed a lot eat all together and talk about different aspect of the life.
The sunset here is amazing with the view of the city and all the peace of the countryside. And i have to admit that i loved fall to sleep listening Andre playing flamenco.

What a beautiful place and home. It was my first workaway experience and all was very new and not always easy but I loved it! I stayed with Juni, Andreas, Zoé and Minou for nearly three weeks and I enjoyed my stay very much. And Zoé is such a sweet, wonderful, wild and adventurous soul. Go and get inspired from her 🌞:) You can explore the area easy by bus, sometimes by a drive from Juni or Andreas a or you can just walk a bit around the house. So just go and meet this wonderful free family! And they really make the best food! Not to forget the amazing sunsets!

Zoé loved them instantly and by the time we had to say goodbye she was so attached it made us all a little sad to imagine how she would go on. If Minou could talk we’re sure she would agree that Louise and Kristofer are just the kind of people you want to host. They are fun, witty, easygoing, flexible, and all around good company. … read more construction work and we would say that we now know how to tile:D We had no experience with construction but it didn't matter, Juni and Andreas praised us anyway and they made us feel comfortable and happy!
They have so many different and exciting projects and we will definitely come back again to see the dream house finished and their garden too!!
