Hello! Bienvenue!
My name is Manon and our family is bicultural French from France and bilingual English and French Canadian. We live in both the French Pyrénées and Montréal, Québec, Canada (we alternate between both locations). We have hosted over 40+ workawayers throughout our lives and really love meeting and hosting people from all over the planet. We are well travelled, easygoing and used to living with other people and families.
I run a small business and work mainly from home. We have a 17 year old sporty child who is an athlete (soccer) and is in his last 2 years of French High School. We are an active busy family and can happily host positive independent mature workawayers who feel comfortable both spending time with our family and independently enjoying all that the French Pyrénées has to offer.
We have a home in the French Pyrénées in a village called Osséja. We can offer a room or tent (in the warmer seasons) there. If you are mature and have experience working in teaching or programming or SEO or working with gardens or on home renos, we could be a good match! Osséja is a small village of 1,400 people. There is a bakery, small food market, café, pharmacy and cinema walking distance from our home. The nearest "town"Puigcerda is about 15 minutes away by bus. A car is not needed but is convenient if you have one! You can get here by public transportation (trains or buses) via Toulouse, Perpignan or Barcelona.
We always have things or projects that need doing. Some examples are:
-Tutoring in any subject matter (such as Math or French or Economics) if you heppen to be a teacher
-Working on improving the garden and land
-Creating and maintaining a vegetable garden
-Home improvement projects such as painting, varnishing and other small repairs
-Excellent writing skills in English or in French as we write blogs, online guides and more
-Project regarding automated marketing using Hubspot, Mailjet etc
-Programming skills in WordPress as we have a website that need improvement
-Social media skills are always welcome in this day and age
-Helping out with graphic design projects for our small business
-Database or Excel skills always welcome
-General house upkeep and cooking
-And whatever fun project we can come up together based on your skills and our needs
We are able to host people almost anytime and for a minimum of 1 month (2 to 3 months preferable when everyone is happy). In exchange for a room or tent we would ask that you volunteer 20 hours a week of your time (4 hours a day x 5 days per week or 5 hours a day x 4 days per week). Tasks will be defined as per your skills and interests and the projects we have.
We do not have pets and unfortunately cannot host pets as we are sensitive to allergens. We are non smokers so we cannot host regular day to day smokers.

Beautiful place and beautiful family, so lovely to chat to about anything whether that be world affairs or just sharing stories!
