Amazing experience I had with Sally and Andrew on their beautiful patio in Spain! I stayed for three weeks and honestly, it was far beyond my expectations. Everything from the location, surrounded by stunning mountains and overlooking the castle of Velez-Blanco, to the peaceful, well-maintained property was simply perfect.

… read more Andrew were so welcoming and warm, always making me feel like part of the family. They were incredibly kind and thoughtful in every way. I had my own lovely little house with a private bedroom, bathroom, and living space — so comfortable I felt completely at home.
Our routine was great — early mornings with coffee watching the sunrise with Andrew, followed by a few hours of satisfying outdoor work. The tasks were easy to understand, mainly focused on helping them prepare their land to be safe from fires. Andrew was always working alongside us, full of energy and good vibes. I really appreciated the balance of structured work during the week and relaxing weekends off to enjoy the pool, nature, and time with their wonderful animals — Denzel the superstar dog and the funny cats Coco, Kiki, and Mini.
Sally is an incredible cook, every meal was absolutely delicious. I also had the chance to improve my English, explore the area, take photos, and even had fun on the quad bike.
Sally and Andrew were also unbelievably helpful to me personally, far beyond what any host would normally do, and I’m forever grateful for that. Just a tiny sorry if I left my little house not as sparkling as I usually would — my brain was a little fried with paperwork on my last evening 🙈.
This was a Workaway experience I’ll never forget and I feel lucky to have been part of their world for a short while. I would love to come back one day and highly recommend Sally and Andrew to any future Workawayers. You will have an unforgettable time!

I stayed with Sally and Andrew for 6 weeks. They’re originally from England, so there were no problems at all with communication 🙂 They both speak English fluently and even know a bit of Spanish, so if you want to speak Spanish, that’s no problem either.
They live a little outside of town, so it was a bit tricky to get there on my own (I was
… read more traveling by hitchhiking), but they were so kind 😊— they picked me up by car when I arrived. When I was leaving, I decided to fly to Ireland, and the nearest airport is about 1.5 hours away by car. Andrew very kindly drove me all the way there, which I really appreciated 🩷
The food was just amazing 😋 There was breakfast, lunch, and lots of snacks and drinks. I especially liked squash 😁, so there was no worry about being hungry. Sally is a great cook and really made sure everything was tasty. She even made a full English breakfast for me — it was so cool to try real English food. Everything was delicious and there was always plenty. Also, Andrew often treated me to ice cream when we went into town together, which was really nice 🍦 Thank you one more time 😁
The work was exactly as described in their profile — from 7 a.m. until lunchtime, with breaks. It wasn’t hard at all. I learned so much and gained a lot of new experience. Andrew was always there working with me and taught me if I didn’t know how to do something correctly. He even taught me how to drive the quad bike and the tractor 🚜 — I’m really thankful for that, because I think it will help me in the future when I get my driver’s licence. He was always there to help and support me.
The accommodation was fantastic 🏡 I had my own apartment, and the house itself is lovely and very comfortable. There’s even a pool, and plenty of places to go for walks — I even climbed a nearby mountain (my first climb and it was really amazing! I found wild goats at the top, but be careful, it’s a sharp ascent). They also have really nice animals: a dog called Denzel and three cats. I especially loved Coco — such a friendly cat, I honestly wanted to take him with me 🐱. Don’t be afraid of the dog, he’s small, very kind, and friendly 🐕
Andrew also invited me to races with his Caterham. It was my first time at a race and I was so excited when we got there. Andrew is a really skilled driver. He drives his old car without ABS and other modern systems better than drivers with brand-new racing cars worth over 100 k€ with all the features. I really enjoyed that day =)
Overall, everything was just perfect ❤️ I’m really grateful to Sally and Andrew for everything they did for me. Thank you very much =)

We have enjoyed having Andrii stay with us and our land now looks amazing, all thanks to his hard work, going above and beyond what was expected of him. Andrii worked like a Trojan, up at the crack of dawn to beat the heat and quite honestly it was almost impossible to make him take a siest during the heat of the day.
Andrii integrated amazingly with our family and absolutely loves all the animals, such a kind and gentle soul.
We will surely miss Andrii and remember him for many years to come. Anyone who is lucky enogh to meet Andrii will be blown away by him.

We have just spent a month in this beautiful place, a combination of workaway and house sit. Sally and Andrew are welcoming hosts, you will be well fed and superbly housed if you stay here. Hi i went to Andrew and sallys home for 2 weeks but stayed 4. The location was nice and peaceful, the work was manual but not hard and Andrew would never ask you to over work yourself. Hours was good and very flexible. I was taken out with there friends and for meals and to visit places. The accommodation was better than any hotel I've seen.

I wish Sally and Andrew all the best and I know I have missed many things you have done for me but everthing was much appreciated.
