Donna Maree is a good lady attentive to the needs of others. With me, for example, she was of great support both for advice and concrete help for the activities I wanted to do (hiking) and for my dietary needs. However, I do not deny that there have sometimes been misunderstandings, some for
… read more my faults and some due to English, even though my level is intermediate. Work is every day but it is possible to manage it so as to have almost all the hours of daylight free to carry out your travel activities(not every day).

Michael is a very amiable guy. Easy to get along with, very friendly and willing to perform any task asked of him without complaint.
We both bonded over music as we are both professional singers. (Michael is one of the best singers I’ve ever met, his voice is world class, and I’m sure he will go very far with it if he makes the right career

Michael speaks and writes English very well, but he does have some difficulty with comprehension as (I think) he still thinks in Italian thus has to translate what he hears back to Italian in his head. Because of this my instructions and requests were sometimes not comprehended. You have to absolutely make sure that Michael is giving you his FULL attention, and that he understands what you’ve spoken to him. I found it prudent to ask him to repeat back to me what he understood I had said in order to ascertain his complete understanding of what I was requiring of him. This will improve in time and with practice, however.
Michael can be absent-minded though, and I had to ask him repeatedly many times to observe simple rules and requests throughout the household, and he would forget over and over and over again, which became very frustrating for me. He is aware of this issue however and was good natured about the feedback.
On the whole, Michael is a friendly, polite, trustworthy, pleasant, hard-working, and conscientious person who I would be very happy to recommend to anybody considering hosting him him through this program.
I will miss his presence in my home and wish him the absolute best for the future and hope to remain in touch with him for many years.

We spent a week in DonnaMaree’s house with her roommate Chris in Whangarei, we helped DonnaMaree with housework but it was really not much compared to their hospitality, we were able to visit lots of places thanks to them. During any emergency he drove my vehicle to fetch my boyfriend from an hour and a half away in a different city using nothing but his own GPS as guidance after being awake all night in the emergency department with me!
... and all of this with a smile on his face and a modest " no problem at all" attitude.

We had such a great time with Donna-Maree! We stayed in her house for two weeks, the work she had given us wasn’t hard at all. She treated us well, being a lovely and amazing person with a heap of information about New Zealand and the people here. Thank you again for sharing your everyday life with us. We got good impressions with your drama group, your brownies and visiting your friends.
DonnaMaree took us to Ocean Beach, where we spent a beautiful day and had a lot of fun. We gathered Pipis, Cockels and mussels and had wonderful dinners. She is creative in so many thing, the kitchen in particular. She baked an awesome cake for Temo’s birthday and spoiled us with good food. We have gained a lot of new knowledge about cooking and also nice, new recepies.
Donna-Maree is also a great musician and excellent at crafting, we had some cool jam sessions. She had also taken some great photos of Vivien.
DonnaMaree provided us camping gear to have a walk around the Bream Heads. It was beatuiful there, espescially Peache Cove. There are also many things around DonnaMarees House to explore and go for walking.
We highly recomend DonnaMaree as a host.

This place was just amazing. The house is clean and it s right next to the beach. The location is great. There are many hiking tracks and bays. The host is very friendly and generous.
