Jude & his sister Jemma stayed with me for a week. They communicated very well even before they arrived, answering messages promptly. They attacked tasks with enthusiasm, were in the garden every morning at 6am, spent 2 tedious days pulling out Jasmine roots, endured the drizzle without complaint, were very tidy around my home, keeping the
… read more dishwasher/ dishes done at all times & were generally just a joy to have around. We/ they enjoyed the excursions we did & they were both very sharp eyed when spotting wildlife. As I was quite busy with work I would sometimes drop them to hikes etc, they entertained themselves with ease. We enjoyed chatting with them & finding out a little about their homelife. They cooked some lovely meals.
Don't hesitate to have either or both of these young motivated & positive young people in your home.

My sister and I spent a week with with Tracie and it was a blast! Tracie is a really easygoing host, and made sure we were welcome in her home. She was often gone at work during the day but gave us clear instructions regarding the work she needed done. Our tasks were mainly odd jobs around the garden (weeding, digging a drainage trench, mulching,
… read more pruning, etc). After work, we could explore the surrounding area which has some nice walking tracks and historic mining exhibits. Tracie was also great in showing us around on our days off--taking us to lakes, rivers, trails, and even lending us her kayaks! She was previously a outdoors guide so she has heaps of interesting facts about wildlife and also some interesting David Attenborough documentaries as well! We will definitely miss Tracie and Puss!

Cooked some lovely meals, kept the kitchen & surrounds very clean n tidy & were just generally easy to have around & a joy to talk to, sharing some of their homelife & culture which gave us an insight into their lives. They were also very sharp eyed when we went on walks,spotting wildlife easily

My brother and I had a great week-long stay with Tracie! We felt very welcome and comfortable in her home, with our own little bedroom and plenty of ingredients for cooking meals. We mainly worked in the garden, pulling weeds, mulching, and building compost. Tracie did an excellent job of explaining the work and was always happy to answer any
… read more questions we had. Most of the time we worked on our own, but when Tracie had days off she worked alongside us in the garden. She also took us out for multiple excursions in the area (driving us to walking trails, nearby towns, lakes/rivers for swimming, and even taking us out for a barbecue). Herberton and the surrounding villages are peaceful and full of interesting nature. All in all I would highly recommend exploring the Tablelands and staying with Tracie! A huge thank you goes out to her for being such a wonderful host, and of course to the host-cat Puss too :)

Although Steven is a nice person, good at chatting, telling stories most of the the information that was on his profile didn't come to fruition at my place, therefore I felt forced to cut his stay short

We were able to stay with Tracie for three weeks. Thank you Tracie for contacting us. We had a wonderful time in Herberton. Even though Tracie was often traveling for work, she was always interested in doing as much as possible with us or organizing fun activities for us. Alice & Felix were a joy to gave around. … read more really good dent in my big pile of sewing & mending, doing a meticulously neat job, as did Felix. They cooked beautifully & were very considerate of my dietary needs, were clean & super tidy in the house, my washing was beautifully folded without me having to mention a word. This was all so gratefully received as I had started another new job & had very little time, but these two just looked & saw what would be helpful & dud it!!! I had to remind them to make time for their leisure.

I really had a great time staying at Tracie's. She is a wonderful host.
My work varied from cleaning chores in or around the house, mulching the garden or helping out at friends places.
She really made me feel comfortable at her place. And I loved puss, we spent lots of time together on the veranda watching birds.

so i pass one week with Tracie in her house in the bush.
The experience was exactly what I was looking for. I worked in the veggie garden, and discovered some news fruits, vegetables and herbs.

there are not wifi in the house but you can find a wifi to librairy few minute by walt to herbethon.
connection to the nature and pease time.
i discover with her around places and go to observation about the bird in park and lake.

Eliza & Matteo were clear in their combinations, very relaxed yet hard working. Nothing was a problem for these two, they made raised garden beds, mulched, made a beautiful job of sanding & varnishing my verandah all with little imput from me, they are enthusiastic, worked autonomously, keep the kitchen etc very clean & also cooked up a storm.

Nicole & Dylan were very willing workers mulching with heavy bark mulch in sometimes drizzly conditions. Tidying the sheds was done in no time! Tracie is a chef by trade, and even though I thought I had made a mess of dinner she enjoyed it, I even made my first banana cake.
Heberton is a gorgeous part of Australia, it has so much wildlife. I loved seeing all the wild Parrots and lizards which visited her garden, there are lots of bush walks too. Her cat was a great companion and I enjoyed petting her.
I loved my time with Tracie and cannot thank her enough for her making me feel so welcome and for the encouragement she gave me. I would highly recommend spending time with Tracie in this wonderful part of Australia.

… read more there because she was very open to finding ingredients I needed, and even though she is a chef I didn't feel intimidated cooking for her! I did a variety of tasks at her place and she tailored a lot of them to be things I was interested in, and she is also full of knowledge about things to do in the area and gave suggestions based on what I like to see and do. She knew I wanted to see a cassowary, and thanks to her I had an incredible experience seeing one very up close! Tracie introduced me to many of her great friends and I was able to have some memorable experiences with them as well.
