Mark and Tom are incredibly attentive hosts, they're always friendly and trying to make sure your stay is pleasant.
The work I did was basically repainting some windows and walls. They prepare delicious meals and always allowed me to bake my favourite banana bread at their kitchen and the last thing but not less important...their retrievers; Otis

James stayed with us for about 8 weeks in June/July 2022, and was a very friendly, reliable and willing Helper.
He quickly took responsibility for a whole range of daily chores, keeping the pool, terraces and guesthouse rooms clean and tidy, as well as helping prepare and serve our regular guest dinners. Not surprisingly, given his professional
… read more background in hospitality, he always worked to a very high standard, without the need for supervision.
James was happy to fit in with our flexible work schedule, and also joined in easily with all the usual household stuff, helping prepare meals, etc. He spent his free time exploring the local area, or just enjoying the pool and other guesthouse facilities, and socialising with other guests who were staying.
We'd certainly have James to stay with us again, and are very happy to recommend him to other hosts!

WHAT A SUMMER!!
I had such an amazing time at the Finca this summer. I felt welcome as soon as I was collected from the airport, Mark and Tom are very hospitable hosts. The Finca is breathtakingly beautiful and I pinched myself every morning I woke up there. As well as being in the mountains, the facilities at the Finca was great too, pool,
… read more jacuzzi, gym and bedroom provided was just perfect. The guests really make it even more special, they are kind, generous, fun and there to rest but enjoy others company too, I learnt a lot from the guests which I will be eternally grateful for. The work that was given to me was easily understandable, not too strenuous and well planned out throughout the working week. My morning routine and chores became a very enjoyable time, early in the morning cleaning the pool and terraces was something to look forward to waking up, rather than dreading. The guests dinners were a special part of the week too, a change to sit down all together and taste Tom's fabulous cooking, I will remember the almond olive oil cake for many moons!! We appreciated Shaun's early communication to plan his visit and, having worked through a number of detailed questions, the way he made clear travel plans and stuck to them.

Mark and Tom are special, but so is this oasis in the mountains. Surrounded by pure beauty with the sounds of nature, it’s only for the special few who get to experience it. Time with Otis and Homer (dogs), and the cats became appreciated for this New Yorker seeking out calm.

… read more times, and because it was a broken up schedule based on work, that was the tough part for me. But I handled it. I was always on time and always put in my best, as I tend to go beyond expectations. My efforts seem to be appreciated. The work was a breeze, and using common sense is recommended. I looked forward to my work days.
The location, my room, and not to mention the amazing culinary delights of Tom, made it all worth it. I came to look forward to dinners with the guests, it was a chance to do what I enjoy most about traveling, connecting with people from all walks of life. I also enjoyed my conversations with mark, while Tom mostly rehearsed piano for his upcoming concerts, and that was a wonderful soundtrack to our day's routine.
Thank you Tom and Mark for sharing your home with me. it’s a moment in time I will not soon forget. I with you the best always.

We had the most wonderful time with Mark & Tom! An unbeatable workaway experience. We enjoyed working on their land, learning all sorts of new building and laboring skills, and staying in their beautiful Finca which they have put so much love into.
