Quais são suas habilidades?

I was brought up with farm work, including vegetable, garden and animal care. I also used to help in building. Vacation work was as a kitchen porter in hotels, and as a hostel warden (my profession is in Analytical Science). I know some French, can use Spanish a bit (know some Italian and a fair bit of Irish Gaelic). I can play a little guitar.

I have been very pleased with Sean’s stay.
He did a great job cutting wood and helping with gardening.
He likes conversation and will keep you compagnie in the evening, where younger workawayers would retire sooner to their room.
Easy going with food as long as it is not to far from his irish home food. Porridge in the morning did very well. … read more

Sean is polite, considerate and well mannered. He merits at least four stars because he never complained and never stopped working on the boring task of cutting, splitting and stacking firewood, however he does lack some practical skills and requires a degree of supervision at times

We were very happy with Sean's stay with us on the small farm. He helped us with the animals, cut firewood, stacked it nicely and also helped with the housework. Very helpful with everything. Sean, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your helping hand.

It was my first workaway, staying with Christina and her daughter Anna in Gers, Occitanie, and it was so nice and accomodating. It was exactly what I needed as a first workaway experience in that the work was not too difficult and there was good cultural exchange with French and German (and English also, which was necessary for me). The … read more accommodation was comfortable, with French television (and Alf!). I had several occasions to do shopping, and I was kindly invited to a concert for a day, in which Anna sang (being a music teacher with piano and singing). Christina and Anna were very welcoming (and also the dogs!) and there was flexibility in the working times since there was always time for a chat and a laugh over coffee, and plenty of break times. I was mainly moving the firewood and stacking neatly (didn’t get to cutting since our saws had cut out). I didn’t have much dealings with the horses or donkey (Ruben). There were plenty of evening chats after dinner, with some card playing also ('Mau Mau!') - I wanted to learn how Christina could win 8 games in a row to reach 10 first! And the food was always ample with Christina's home cooking, aperatif and some wine. The countryside around was fantastic, with the variety of trees and the corn fields, lovely colours in October, and also the wildlife - foxes, hawks (I think), rabbits and the small deer (and the Peacock butterflies, and I never saw so many Red Admirals!). And that orange slug on the roads! I was able to walk to Marciac (famous for the jazz), the church in St Justin and my favourite was the church up the hill in Auriebat (you could see this in the distance and I managed to see Christina’s house from there also). And of course the varying views of the Pyrenees. All in all it was a great experience and a perfect start to my workawaying. Thank you Christina and Anna.

C’était mon premier workaway, chez Christina et sa fille Anna a Gers, en Occitanie, et c’était tellement agréable et arrangeant. C’était exactement ce dont j’avais besoin comme première expérience de workaway, c’est-à-dire que le travail n’était pas trop difficile et qu’il y avait un bon échange culturel avec le français et l,allemands (et l’anglais aussi, ce qui était nécessaire pour moi). Le logement était confortable, avec la télévision française (et Alf !). J’ai eu plusieurs occasions de faire du shopping, et j’ai été gentiment invité à un concert d’une journée, dans lequel Anna chantait (étant professeur de musique avec piano et chant). Christina et Anna étaient très accueillantes (ainsi que les chiens !) et il y avait de la flexibilité dans les horaires de travail puisqu’il y avait toujours du temps pour discuter et rire autour d’un café, et beaucoup de temps de pause. Je déplaçais principalement le bois de chauffage et l’empilais soigneusement (je n’ai pas eu l’occasion de couper puisque nos scies avaient découpé). Je n’avais pas beaucoup de relations avec les chevaux ou l’âne (Ruben). Il y avait beaucoup de discussions en soirée après le dîner, avec aussi quelques jeux de cartes ('Mau Mau!') - Je voulais savoir comment Christina pouvait gagner 8 matchs d’affilée pour atteindre les 10 en premier ! Et la nourriture était toujours copieuse avec la cuisine maison de Christina, un apéritif et du vin. La campagne environnante était fantastique, avec la variété d’arbres et les champs de maïs, de belles couleurs en octobre, et aussi la faune - des renards, des faucons (je pense), des lapins et des petits cerfs (et les papillons paons, et je n’ai jamais vu autant d’amiraux rouges! (o vulcain) ). Et cette limace orange sur les routes ! J’ai pu marcher jusqu’à Marciac (célèbre pour le jazz), l’église de St Justin et ma préférée était l’église en haut de la colline à Auriebat (vous pouviez voir cela au loin et j’ai réussi à voir la maison de Christina de là aussi). Et bien sûr, les différentes vues sur les Pyrénées. Dans l’ensemble, ce fut une expérience formidable et un début parfait pour mon workaway. Merci a Christina et Anna.
