Hey!

My name is Lucy, I am 18 years old from Australia and have just completed high school.

I love making connections with people and building new friendships. I live on Lake Macquarie, and I have a strong passion for outdoor activities, especially those by the water. Growing up on the East Coast, I’ve been surrounded by beautiful beaches, and I love spending my free time there with friends. I grew up camping with my family, and now that I’m older, I enjoy doing it with my friends. Whether it’s exploring, four-wheel driving, skurfing, wakeboarding, hiking, or just listening to music, I love being outdoors, either with friends or on my own. I’ve always had a strong desire to travel, meet new people, and try new things, and now that I’ve finished school, I’m ready to take on those adventures.

In the future, I’d love to become a National Park ranger. This career will allow me to give back to nature after all the enjoyment it has given me, while also helping preserve Australia’s beautiful environment. After completing TAFE, I plan to work for a couple of years, then take a lap around Australia and of course see the rest of the world!

Quais são suas habilidades?

As a recent high school graduate with a passion for exploring new places, specifically the outdoors, and connecting with diverse individuals, I am excited about the chance to bring my skills and enthusiasm to try new things.

With experience in both the hospitality and retail industries, over the past 4 years, I have developed a strong foundation in customer service, teamwork, cleanliness, organisation, and communication. I would love to further develop my abilities and experience through trying new things. I am hard working, physically healthy and a quick learner who can swiftly grasp new concepts and adapt to different tasks and environments with ease, I have the ability to thrive in all types of environments, which I believe, makes me well-suited to the dynamic nature of a variety of jobs. When working in retail and hospitality, time efficiency is an essential skill in which I have gained, throughout my work experience, I have sharpened my problem-solving abilities and demonstrated a strong capacity to engage with people of all ages and cultures. I have done my share of house sitting and pet sitting throughout my life and love getting to spend time with animals, I have a dog of my own in which I walk most days and spent lots of time with. I am eager to expand my skill set through new challenges and experiences, and I see that I would gain this through travel and volunteer work as the perfect opportunity to do so.

Travel has always been a significant part of my life. My father’s side of the family lives in the Netherlands, so throughout my childhood, I traveled there regularly to visit them. I’ve also spent time visiting my mother’s relatives, who are spread across England and Ireland.
More recently, I’ve had the opportunity to travel with my family to places like Fiji and Thailand. Every year, we also go camping along the East Coast of New South Wales which we have done all my life since I was an infant. Camping is one of my favourite activities, and now that I’m older, I love being able to enjoy it with my friends as well.
I’ve always planned to go backpacking after finishing school, and New Zealand has long stood out to me as a dream destination. I’d also love to backpack through Europe, which would give me the chance to reconnect with family along the way. Another big dream of mine is to take a lap around Australia in a four-wheel drive, something I truly hope to experience in the near future!
