Descrição
Like to find one more host in Denmark, south of Kolding. For November/December one or two hosts on this trajectory in Germany: Hamburg - Oldenburg - Duisburg - Wuppertal.
Restart travels July 2024. It will be the biking, camping and volunteering again.
July and the first part of august will be just the biking and camping to not spoil time and get in time (before it's to cold) in my favorite landscapes in Norway.
This time it will be the south-west, south of Stavanger.
Once my summer-sleeping-back turns to cold I'll leave for North Denmark where, I hope, my winter-luggage will be :-) and find some time to meet former Workaway-hosts next to other contacts, spread over this country.
Returning back to Belgium will go through Germany, passing through Duisburg to catch some culture.

I combine Workaway with covering distances on a bicycle.
Staying in a family for 3 weeks is therefore to long: 7, 10 or 14 days is more realistic for my way of traveling.
So, because of my rather short stay, it's timesaving to know from the beginning what type of work I can do ... and painting and decorating I can :-)
I have very good experiences with working in this way. Look at the feedback and you will see people were happy :-) and I was happy too.
It's also my experience that when the relationship concerning the work to be done, is fine, it's easier to get a nicer relationship in general. Important when you just stay for 7, 10 or 14 days!
The reason I started working in this way is to avoid ending up in a situation hosts assume I will do the cooking, the household-jobs and the looking after the children (See my gender and age).
Yes I'm still able to stay on a ladder. Yes I'm rather handy with tools.
I don't like ending up in situations in witch children are looked after by a whole series of Workawayers and hosts assuming (Because of my age and gender) I will do the same.
I like children, and doing activities together with them, a lot. But being an au-pair is not my piece of cake :-).

In this way I could enjoy outdoors paintwork and gardenwork.
The garden also offered a sheltered place for my cosy tent.

This workaway became much shorter than actually planned by me. Mainly because lots of other volunteers where on their way to this location, while another place, not far away, paintwork was waiting for me.

Kris is full of energy and has a great working spirit.
It was very good to have Kris here during the confusing times of the Coronavirus the best way is just to work and forget what's going on. We managed to do so much and finally I could move into the cabin last week thanks to Kris and many other volunteers.

Extraordinary people on an extraordinary location.
Never met a couple of people as empathetic as Susan and Finn.
We had great local fresh food prepared by Susan, every day.
I had the pleasure to paint the walls of their stylish home.
