Hi there! I hope you’re doing well!
I’m Pei-Rong from Taiwan, also feel free to call me Irene if that’s easier for you!

I am traveling in Austria with a one-year working holiday visa, which allows me to work legally there. Through doing workaway I explore the world, experience different lifestyles, also figure out what my true passion is and what my future career path can be.

I speak Mandarin, English, a bit German (I’ve been learning it on Duolingo everyday for more than a year! But still lack speaking practice). I majored in Russian and spent time in Moscow as an exchange student. While I enjoy the linguistic and cultural history, I am a peace-loving person who values cross-cultural connection.

I like to crochet and knit and start an account about my yarn journey and life in Austria on instagram: @base.of.miii. I find myself quite enjoy editing videos! I would love to learn more about yarn-making or yarn-dying. I’m also interested in learning swing dance (I took some classes several years ago and loved it!), ceramics, different languages and different culture!

I’m a calm, independent, optimistic, responsible, open-minded, detail-oriented person. I am a good listener and get along with people easily, but I can be a bit shy when using a non native language. I value honesty, consistency, and deep connection with people. I find joy in the little things, like having a cup of tea with milk in the morning, crocheting in the sunshine, or just enjoying a peaceful moment in the garden. I’m good at analyzing, optimization and working within a structured framework.

So far I have done two workaways. First one was in a small rural town in Taiwan. It's a renovated traditional Taiwanese building (you can find some pics on my profile). At first I planned a three week stay, but ended up staying there for six weeks! I helped with sorting rice, daily cleaning, cleaning rooms for travelers, and on the weekends this place turned into a cafe and I also made drinks for the customers. I was deeply in love with the local networking between the host and her friends. Each of them has their own specialties, including but not limited to photography, painting, culinary arts, ceramics, embroidery and interior design. The way these artists interact and cooperate to work on regional revitalization is so charming! I would love to be a part of the network like this in the future!

The second one is what I'm currently doing: helping on a sheep farm in Wallsee. I feed the sheep, milk them and help with cheese-making. Sometimes I also help with some gardening work. I'm truly grateful for the opportunity to get a glimpse of Austrian family life here! Especially with such open-minded friendly people! It's always so interesting to know people from different cultural backgrounds!

In terms of work I would love to work with artistic people and in an artistic open-minded environment. I can help with social media and video editing, but also willing to try different new tasks! Clear and flexible working hours per week would be appreciated!

I have a background in handicrafts (crochet and knitting) and run a small brand called "@base.of.miii" on Instagram. I am eager to learn more about yarn production, natural dyeing, fiber arts, event planning, and so on!

I’m an experienced worker—I helped at a rural guesthouse/cafe in Taiwan, doing cleaning and also making drinks for customers, and now I am helping on a sheep farm in Wallsee, including feeding, milking and cheese-making, and some gardening.

I speak Mandarin, English, Russian, and basic German. I can help with social media and video editing, but also willing to try different new tasks! Clear and flexible working hours per week would be appreciated!
