  I preferably host someone above age 25 with independent living experience.
  
  For July and/or August 2026 (dates aren’t fixed yet) I might also need a house-, pet- and Gardensitter for some weeks. Accommodation only for housesitting periods.
  
  We're a live-loving, openminded, energetic and fun family who lives with a cat in the southwestern part of Upper Austria 🇦🇹, just 30 km north of Salzburg. I am a student guidance counselor, teacher, worked in tourism, restaurants and a travel-agency. I also spent almost 2 years living abroad, in the USA 🇺🇸 and Italy 🇮🇹. I/we love to connect to people from different countries and cultures and would like to share time, space, experiences and work.
  
  I live on the ground floor, my mother lives on the first floor and we are an open house with friends and family visiting and hopping in very often. I love being a host and inviting people from all over the world into our house and garden is definitely my thing, I love it :) I also host couchsurfers and homecamper guests who use my garden for camping.
  
  I am interested in your culture and lifestyle. 😊 Food, languages, economics, hobbies, politics, educational system, sustainability etc.
  
  Looking forward to hosting positive, friendly and outgoing, nature and garden interested initiative people with a good work ethic and common sense, who don’t mind sweating and getting their hands dirty, maybe have experience in wood-work! See you 😊
  
  Update 2026: unfortunately I had a very, very bad experience with someone I trusted 100 %, stealing from me and my mother… so lately I have been having a trust problem - which you might understand. I always have been a very open and trusting person, doors unlocked most of the time, being certain that if I treat people well and with respect I will always be treated fair and kindly as well… and this feeling of insecurity, if someone deserves my trust is somewhat disturbing and new to me. I hope I can regain full positivity and trust towards new people.

  Cook and enjoy Austrian and international meals together. Language learning (German, English), herbs and gardening, Salzburg - culture and festivals, the surroundings, getting to know the mountains and go swimming in clear lakes and rivers. Sometimes, when I’m not busy doing other things I can be a very good guide to our local sites and beautiful nature places.
  
  I love to share my secret nature spots with you and share knowledge about this beautiful country.
  
  I’ve also done quite some special travelling and love to share stories about that. You will be treated like a friend and you will be involved in what’s going on here. So even if there’s just you as a single workawayer you won’t get bored but still have time to enjoy what you like doing.

  Ajuda

  First of all we would like to welcome you like a family member! … which besides sharing meals, dinner-talks or board games also means sharing everyday chores like helping setting the table or empty the dishwasher, think in family-terms when making tea, etc. 😉 !!!
  
  Feel welcome, but also try to adapt to how we do certain things in this house and show respect for our lifestyle. I need to plan and decide what’s on the menu because I usually do the shopping and have in mind what will be ready for being harvested. I appreciate your help in the kitchen if we can agree on some basics which are important to me!
  
  In spring we usually need someone to help getting the garden and greenhouse ready. So there will be mostly starting the garden, preparing beds and cleaning up around the house, get everything ready to plant.
  
  In Summer we are pruning/Cutting the hedge, raking leaves and taking all the green cuts with a wheelbarrow to the forest/green dump, sometimes some digging out bushes and replant them in better places/separate them.
  
  The rest of the garden season:
  Watering, harvesting vegetables, mowing the lawn, sweeping the terrace, picking weeds, cutting hedges and taking the cuts to the dump, straining stones from soil, vacuum cleaning, clean the windows, clean bathrooms, canning/cooking tomatos and fruits, everything that’s to do in a house with a big garden 😊
  
  It is very important to me that the house is kept clean and tidy.
  
  Needed at times: people with some physical strength and building/woodwork/construction skills, creativity. So for some chores a certain physical strength is helpful.
  
  We don't have huge projects - they are small to medium sized... couple of hours, couple of days in order one is done. So we don't necessarily need long term workawayers, it's also nice to have someone just hop in and out for a couple of days, help doing one or the other thing. But sometimes, if we are a smooth match, it’s also nice to have someone for three weeks or even longer. I also need a house sitter occasionally.
  
  I will explain the projects that have to be done at the beginning of your stay and expect them to be finished nicely. If you don’t know how to do it, please ask! I will always be there to work along, explain new skills but I also expect self sufficient working to a certain degree. I don’t want to host kids who don’t have a clue about real hands on! I have done workaways myself and know what I am talking about. ;)
  
  ... and if you have special skills, I’m also very curious to learn new ones! :-)

  I am a generous and supportive person but I also expect you to bring along a good working spirit. If there’s a challenging situation, I prefer discussing it openly. Always ready to learn myself. 😊

  Acomodação

  I provide a cosy bedroom with a good bed and a separate, occasionally shared bathroom, ensuite.
  If you prefer, in summer you can also sleep in a tent in the garden. I can provide full equipment for that.
  
  You can fix your own breakfast but generally I appreciate shared meals and communication about what you use. I cook dinner on most days. We are mostly on the veggie-side... if meat, then organic from local farmers. Meals are included and we expect about 4 hrs work a day plus normal participation in everyday household-chores.
  
  Working time is preferably in the morning. I can’t accept Workawayers who sleep till 10am… sorry.
  
  When you leave, I expect the room and bathroom to be clean and tidy, nicely prepared for the next guest or Workawayer. Merci 😊🙏

  We also have a bike for your use, there is a beautiful lake 3 km from our house and a train station just 3 minutes walking distance from the house. 35 - 45 minutes to Salzburg by train for € 14/day ticket.
