Hi everyone!
I’m Sophia, and I’m currently between finishing my Bachelor's degree in Nutrition & Food Science and starting my Master's in the autumn. Before that, I will complete an internship at the end of the summer. Other than that, I am free in spring and summer, and I am looking forward to some new Workaway experiences! :)

I spent two months in Canada earlier this year, gaining new perspectives about community life and self-sustained farming through a first Workaway experience. And taking care of another place, including all the farm animals and some basic carpentry jobs as a second one. Both motivated me (once again) to seek more of them, as I really like this way of travelling to really get to know a place, its people and its rhythm by staying there for at least a short while and helping out.

As my studies might suggest, I really like food and cooking, trying new preservation methods, getting to know new recipes and I’m very happy to share these activities with others.
Besides that, I enjoy going on bikepacking trips in summer, being around water for (kite)surfing, swimming, or just going for a walk, as well as doing creative things like making linocuts.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I recently gained Workaway experience in Canada, where I helped to take care of a farm with my partner. This included looking after two horses, four goats, a dog, a few ducks and lots of chickens, which I really enjoyed! We also got to do some basic carpentry tasks, which I would definitely like to improve on.
Getting to know community life, including cooking for groups up to 15 people, preserving food, caring for fire wood ... were tasks of another Workaway that I enjoyed lately.
Before I started my studies, I also helped on a farm in Sweden and did some gardening, and helped around the house in Portugal & Spain.

I’m also good with kids: I organized summer camps for a while, and I look after the children of family and friends every now and then. If anyone would be interested in trying some linocut printmaking, I would be happy to share about that hobby of mine.

I would definitely be interested in some more gardening and farming tasks, but I am also very open to any other new task, as I would say that I am a communicative, enthusiastic and adaptable person.
