  Hello lovely people, we are looking urgently (April/May 2024) for a couple or at least two friends, who like to stay on our land and help for now especially with our veggie garden, watering our trees, feeding our little pig and so on.... :). As we don't have this community of volunteers at the moment, thats why we are looking for friends or couples, otherwise it could be to lonesome on the land.   🟣Located in the south-west Algarve on the Costa Vicentina Natural Park, we have already started an eco-friendly project ago: a park in the middle of nature, 10 minutes walking to the sea and near the village of Figueira.
  🟣Our project is to create a brand new space of cultural exchange and fun for families and friends.
  The areas involved are:
  1)Permaculture,
  2) Bio-Construction
  3) Agro-forestry,
  4) Carpentry
  5) Water Management ♻️
  (Water dams, Bio-swimming pool)
  This is the most important focus now* which implies physical work💪)
  🟣The purpose of this project is to provide the region with a space dedicated to nature, culture and well-being.
  🟡What do we have already done?
  1- The Solar Power Station.
  It is also a multipurpose- Shed with all tools we need for working on the land.
  2- Communitary Kitchen.
  (very cozy, protected from rain and wind, with all things you need)
  3- Food Forest Garden. (100% Agroecological production)
  Where we have a variety of different veggies, greens and fruit trees growing.
  4- Two Eco- Dry Toilets (Two Chambers each one, Men and Women)
  Made with straw- clay- sand, very spacious, comfortable and easy to maintain.
  5- Outside shower 🚿
  6- Chilling out area (developing)
  🐑🐑And we have 2 lambs for helping with the weeding🌱 and giving manure, they need attention and care of course.
  ✅The host offers accommodation a parking place for your own.
  ✅ The host also provides a budget for you to buy your own food (plus the food from the the veggie garden)
  ✅Wifi and Laundry*
  🔷️In exchange, the members volunteer for 5 hours, 5 days a week.
  🟢PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU ARE REALLY INTERESTED
  We like to live in harmony, considering 2 main aspects:
  1️⃣ Willingness to work with enthusiasm (proactively and responsibly)
  2️⃣ Respect and empathy for the shared place, the Nature, our cute lambs🐑🐑💜, and of course the people around.
  ⭕We as volunteers have also realised about the importance of being empathetic since we live in a very diverse region with lot of people coming from all over the World. We welcome everyone willing to help! no matter:
  ➡️Nationaly, Culture, Social Background.
  ➡️Beliefs, Religion, etc.
  ➡️Physical appearance, we should not even mention this, but we see it's crucial to do it💁‍♀️
  
  We have agreements for a balanced household and general cleaning to keep the common areas always nice.
  🟣In general we share most of the time among ourselves as volunteers.
  🤠Nuno (the host) comes to help and share but not every day and not for long, since he has also many responsibilities outside this project, so it is crucial to be independent and proactive to be a "plus" to the group.
  
  🟣There is a one-week trial
  This is for you as a volunteer to decide if you like it and want to stay or not, and also for the host or the person in charge, so both sides have the chance to experience and then take the decision to continue or not.
  🟣We also ask that before you leave you let us know in advance, at least 1 week. It's a way to help us to organise and look for a new member, also it is a way to show respect since it demands our time and energy.

  O que é isso?

  Oportunidades de intercâmbio cultural e aprendizado

  The volunteers will be benefiting of one of the most beautiful areas of Portugal, which is the National Park Southwest Alentejo and Vicentina Coast.
  The creation of this project can be a great opportunity for all of us. First of all, it will be a good opportunity to learn how to build basic facilities with organic and recycled materials, practice Permaculture, Bio-Construction and more.

  Ajuda

  Volunteers should be people interested in the creation of an innovative eco-park, where people can meet and socialise, relax in nature, enjoy different activities and food, learn through workshops, etc. Volunteers may also be interested in exploring the region, but at the same time wanting to help on a local project, to learn new skills and meet like-minded people.
  
  At the moment we need help with the garden, cleaning and planting food and trees. Take care of our sheep.
  Do irrigation system for the garden and trees. The ideal would be 3/4 people with experience in these areas.
  We have three caravans available to stay, with communal kitchen, dry toilets.
  We also offer 40€ per person per week. With daily work of 5h per day,

  Algo mais...

  Volunteers in their free time can enjoy pleasant walks and get to know the local country lifestyle. The marked hiking trail the Rota Vicentina can be explored as well as many other unmarked trails. You could learn to surf as there are many ideal beaches for surfing in the area (other activities include paddle-boarding, mountain biking, boat trips etc). There are regular buses from Figueira to both Lagos and Sagres where further activities/restaurants/sites/services can be accessed. Within walking distance from the caravan park are several restaurants, a cafe (with vegetarian and vegan food), and a small shop. The nearest large supermarket is 5 minute drive away. Lagos is just 20 minutes by bus or car from our place, there you wil have all you need, also a very active night life, beautiful beaches and viewpoints.
  Also Portimão is around 40 minutes too, this is a quite big city if you need anything else too.
