Hi loves,
I'm Julia, an austrian dietitian travelling through Centralamerica since 2022. In the meantime I built a van with my partner and adopted 2024 the cutest puppy "Cora(zón)".

We traveled through Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and headed back to Mexico. There we arrived at a Workaway decorating the space and ended up getting part of the NGO team, creating a permaculture garden, creating/building a new community space and being managers/hosts of volunteers, so I know and understand your perspective very good well:)
Over the years I gained more and more passion and knowledge in permaculture, including a course and managing an own project.

After one year in the project, I decided that it's time to move the van again, connect with other communities and share my learnings, knowledge and talents.

Deixado pelo anfitrião (Learn new skills and ...) para o Workawayer ()

It was an absolute privilege to host Julia and Sau for a little over three weeks here on our farm. Julia is an absolutely amazing cook and very knowledgeable about health, nutrition, and healthy diet/living. Being able to turn that knowledge into amazing foods (i.e. homemade sourdough bread, homemade pasta, gnocchi, etc, etc, etc.) is a talent… read more that few possess. Beyond their abilities in the kitchen, however, both Julia and Sau are amazing macramé artists. Both of them helped us decorate some recently finished cabins with unique macramé lamps, wall hangings, and other decorations that add an artistic touch that the cabins were needing. If that weren´t enough, Julia and Sau also helped us throughout the week with various farm chores, including harvesting pumpkins, clearing fields, planting fava beans, shelling fava beans, and more. They are extremely hard workers, exceptionally knowledgeable, and very friendly and outgoing. Any Workaway host would be lucky to have them as volunteers, and should certainly reach out to them regarding an opportunity to share together. Thank you Julia and Sau for spending time with our family, being overly kind with our children, and sharing your gifts with us!

Fue un privilegio absoluto recibir a Julia y Sau durante poco más de tres semanas aquí en nuestra finca. Julia es una cocinera absolutamente increíble y tiene mucho conocimiento sobre salud, nutrición y dieta/estilo de vida saludable. Ser capaz de convertir ese conocimiento en comidas increíbles (es decir, pan de masa madre casero, pasta casera, ñoquis, etc, etc, etc.) es un talento que pocos poseen. Sin embargo, más allá de sus habilidades en la cocina, tanto Julia como Sau son increíbles artistas del macramé. Ambos nos ayudaron a decorar algunas cabañas recién terminadas con lámparas de macramé, tapices y otras decoraciones que agregan el toque artístico que las cabañas estaban necesitando. Si eso no fuera suficiente, Julia y Sau también nos ayudaron durante la semana con varias tareas de la granja, como cosechar calabazas, limpiar campos, plantar habas, pelar habas y más. Son muy trabajadores, tienen un conocimiento excepcional y son muy amables y agradables. Cualquier anfitrión de Workaway sería afortunado de tenerlos como voluntarios y, sin duda, debería ponerse en contacto con ellos para tener la oportunidad de compartir juntos. ¡Gracias Julia y Sau por pasar tiempo con nuestra familia, ser demasiado amables con nuestros hijos y compartir sus dones con nosotros!
