UPDATE: WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR LONG-TERM VOLUNTEERS FOR OCTOBER, NOVEMBER, DECEMBER JUST TO DO HOUSE AND PUPPY SITTING!
We are just about to start an officially registered NGO, focusing on permaculture and self-sustained eco-living. Other long-term goals are reforestation, protection of the jungle, and the development of nearby indigenous communities.
The 42-hectare land full of lush jungle, food produce, clear rivers, majestic wildlife, and beautiful cascades offers much to explore and provides us with fruits & veggies to harvest.
As the land is big, we take care of two different areas:
- "COCINA CARACOL": The creation of this space in the middle of the jungle started in April 2024, so it still demands a lot of work in developing the living and permaculture area. We, Julia and Sau, are your hosts here. For us, a conscious way of living is important and respected. So we try to practice yoga regularly, make fire circles, music, and occasionally cacao ceremonies. We have a vegetarian diet, with options for vegans.
- "SAGRADA FAMILIA": This area is at the entrance of the jungle and is advanced in installations and buildings. Here your host is a warm-hearted and funny Mexican family taking care of the farm and big food production for self-sufficiency. This space offers an omnivore diet, but is open to veggie options.
Although some volunteers live in one area and others in the other, we still try to do activities together.

You (can) learn about NGO's, jungle/community life, bio-construction, permaculture, professional artwork, healthy eating and making sourdough bread (Julia is a dietitian + passionate cook/baker), cacao processing, harvest exotic fruits, the local flora and wildlife, learn from the mayan culture, improve your spanish, while you can have your daily showers in the clear rivers.

- carpentry/bio-construction
- capturing the land with your drone
- mapping out the permaculture area (1-2 hectares)
- help in macramé and other decoration/art projects
- preparing lunch for the team (3-10 humans)
- creating little by little our permaculture garden
- cleaning the communal areas/pathways
- general maintenance
- harvest fruits and veggies in the space of "SAGRADA FAMILIA"
Space "SAGRADA FAMILIA":
- helping María in the kitchen and housekeeping
- Farm work with chickens, turkeys, fish, parrots, dogs, cats, ...
- creating the new greenhouse (raising beds, planting, caring, harvesting)
- process corn/cacao
- tree care and harvest fruits

Acomodação
Currently we accomodate in a jungle hut, in tents and hammocks.
We live in harmony with animals like spiders, snakes, scorpions, mosquitoes.
It would be good to bring a headlamp with you!
You have access to the kitchen and we provide breakfast and lunch ON WORKING DAYS.
More than 50% of the food is from our own production.
Also, we wash our bodies in the river. Please bring an organic soap and toothpaste with you!

We are located 1h20h with public transportation and 1h by car from Palenque. A touristy city rich of mayan culture and a world famous archeological site from the great mayan emperor Pakal. Also many other well known beautiful nature spots are within max. 2-3 hours traveling, like the famous riverside Agua Azul, Roberto Barrios and Misol-Ha. Besides you can always spend your time here and enjoy the magical nature on our land and around. There are a lot of hidden gems to explore.

The 21km road is very bumpy. All-road is not needed, but if your vehicle is low, it could be difficult. The vehicle would be parked at the entry and is safely protected by the family living at this part of this land.
