Hello,
My name is Tatus, and I live with my husband Javier in the countryside of northern Spain, in a beautiful little village called Terán de Cabuérniga, Cantabria. Our home sits in a peaceful valley near the river, surrounded by forest trails and meadows. We have three grown up children living on their own.
I’m a 57-year-old woman who loves to travel, explore new cultures, meet wonderful people - my friends are my most precious treasure- and learn through new experiences. What I enjoy most, though, is spending time in my organic garden, a living space that teaches me patience and gratitude. Eight years ago, we had our house built our home following Passive House standards, but as I’ve learned, creating a garden is a lifelong journey. I’m very passionate about agroforestry (syntropy), and being surrounded by Nature brings me deep joy.
I love discovering edible wild plants, but really, all forms of beauty move me deeply — whether it’s art, music, architecture, or human connection.
I’ve been practicing yoga for many years and even taught classes for a short while. I’m currently in my final year of English studies at the official language school.
I also volunteer with an local NGO that provides scholarships for children in Nepal. My community is very active in social and cultural initiatives, and I enjoy being involved in many of them.
avier is 67 years old. He retired two years ago from a successful career as a CEO in a timber factory. He likes spending time in the forest, although since we don’t have our dog, we go less often to the woods. But as soon as he hears that there are mushrooms in the soil, he puts on his boots. I don’t like to use garden machinery, so these chores fall on him. He also likes fishing, and frequently he joins a mate on his boat, which provides a good amount of fresh fish for the house. But if I had to highlight a skill of his, I would say that Javier is an excellent chef!!
Javier is less into traveling than I am, after so many work trips, but I think he would enjoy this experience if he had the opportunity.
Mi nombre es Tatus y vivo con mi esposo Javier en el apacible campo del norte de España, en un pequeño y hermoso pueblo llamado Terán de Cabuérniga, enclavado en un valle verde junto al río, con muchos senderos de bosque y praderas.
Tengo 57 años, y lo que más valoro en la vida es la posibilidad de seguir aprendiendo: a través de los viajes, de la naturaleza, de las personas y de cada nueva experiencia que me abre un poco más la mirada. Así como las relaciones con otras personas y su cultura. Una de las cosas que me hacen muy feliz es pasar tiempo en mi jardín orgánico, un espacio vivo que me enseña paciencia y gratitud. Nuestra casa, construida hace ocho años bajo los estándares Passivhaus, es un luminoso y amplio espacio con el que nos sentimos muy afortunados. El jardín, es una obra de amor lenta y de toda una vida. Me siento profundamente atraída por la agroforestería y la sintrópia, y nada me da más paz que estar rodeada de Naturaleza. Me encanta aprender acerca de plantas silvestres comestibles.
Pero, en realidad, todas las formas de belleza me conmueven: arte, la música, la arquitectura y las relaciones humanas.
El yoga forma parte de mi vida desde hace muchos años; por un tiempo tuve incluso la alegría de enseñarlo a otras personas.
En este momento, estoy terminando mi último año de estudios de inglés en la escuela oficial de idiomas. También estoy muy implicada con una ONG local que ofrece becas a niños y niñas de Nepal. Mi comunidad es vibrante y activa en proyectos culturales y sociales, y me siento agradecida de formar parte de muchos de ellos.
avier tiene 67 años. Se jubiló hace dos años después de una exitosa carrera como CEO en una fábrica de madera. Le gusta pasar tiempo en el bosque, aunque desde que no tenemos perro, vamos menos al monte. Pero tan pronto como escucha que hay setas en el suelo, se pone sus botas. No me gusta usar maquinaria de jardín, así que esas tareas recaen en él. También le gusta pescar, y con frecuencia se une a un amigo en su bote, lo que proporciona una buena cantidad de pescado fresco para la casa. Pero si tuviera que resaltar una de sus habilidades, diría que Javier es un excelente chef!!
Javier le gusta viajar menos que a mi, después de tantos viajes de trabajo, pero creo que disfrutaría de esta experiencia si tuviera la oportunidad.

Quais são suas habilidades?
I am a positive and energetic person most of the time. I love to learn form people around me but I also like to exchange my abilities. Yoga has been my passion for a long time and more recent I would say that plants ( trees, edible wild plants, microbiology underearth ) have all my interest. I have designed and keep a large garden since 8 years ago. My pockets are always full of seed ( I am a member of the seed group of my area). My family and friends call me when they have to organize a space,so it is probably one of skills and I would like to say that be a honest and good friend could be other . I am in charge of the decoration at my family café

I am interested in living a nice life experience and finding a good host who could be a friend in the future. It is not necessary, but I wish that it might happen. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have friends all over the world? I will not be young anymore, and I am feeling less brave as life goes on. I am trying to leave my comfort zone, but I realize this is not going to last. I am also thinking about learning to be a host myself, hosting Workaway people at my place to give me a hand with the garden chores.
