    hey hey!
My name is Simone and I am a 23 year old girl from Germany. 2018 I finished a training to become a social assistant in kindergarten which included working in a Kindergarten as well. After the training I decided to work as an Au pair far up in in the north of Norway where I worked with a lovely family to get my first impression of working in a foreign country. Additionally I have been a german teacher in a high school in the little town I was staying for 6 months where I could experience the work with teenagers.
After that I had my first workaway experience in a little Backpacker Hostel in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, for 4 months. Here I would do basic reception and cleaning work around the hostel as well as tourist guidance. I had a great time there and decided to continue my travels afterwards. Therefor I ended up in hungary and started volunteering in an animal shelter with a focus on rescuing horses, goats, sheep, donkeys, dogs, cats and all other kinds of animals. During this time Corona started to become a serious topic in the world, so I decided to stay there for up to 10 months. in the end of 2020 I changed to another place in hungary which was a little riding school in the south, teaching about real horsemanship, western riding and horseback archery. I was working there over the wintertime for 4 months. In this year I once again fell in love with the job as a caretaker for animals and was lucky enough to gain valuable knowledge in the field.
Since Corona slowed down a bit I decided to go back to Germany working as a cleaning staff in a watersportresort over the summer season but decided soon it is time to start my next travels again.
In the Winter of 2021 a german language institute in Mongolia contacted me to offer me a volunteering position as a language teacher for the span of a year and I gladly took the opportunity. Since January 2022 I'm now working in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia as a language teacher for german, as well as a Kindergarten Teacher for ESL classes in a Bilingual Kindergarten. After more than a year, my time in Mongolia is slowly coming to an end and I decided to move to my next destination this summer in 2023.
I always thought the best way to experience a new country is to stay longterm, live and work in it so you can really dive into the culture. Especially the scandinavian and northern countries always had my interest but I'm open to anyting that comes along the way.
My colleagues and friends described as an open minded person with a happy attitude that is ready for an adventure at any time. Working in a team is easy for me and through my past years I could develop my communication skills especially in an international working environment. Adapting to a new way of working and living is another thing I learned from my volunteering experiences and I gladly say it is getting easier with each time. Staying outside in the sometimes lonely countryside is not a problem for me and in the past years I learned to love the calmness of places in the middle of nowhere as well as cold and tough weather circumstances.
I'm always ready to experience the nature of a country through hiking and camping trips and have a love for animals since grew up with pets all around the house, did about 6 years of horse riding in my childhood and are experienced in taking care of dogs, goats, cats and more
English and German are the languages I can speak fluently and my norwegian is on a intermdediate level,, while I'm learning the mongolian language currently. Hopefully I'm able to addg more languages to that list!
I'm looking forward to see the world from the sight of a new country, tons of new impressions, new people and new stories to listen to as well as being able to help out where help is needed.

Thanks for reading through my profile and I hope for a positive response!

    P.S. I'm fully vaccinated for Covid 19

  • Quais são suas habilidades?

In the 2 year lasting education to become a social assistent I did come to the truth that I appreciate and love the work with children a lot. Not only the practical tasks in Kindergarten but also the theoretical aspect of topics like pedagogy and childcare which I learned about in those years have aroused my interest. In my opinion kids can not only learn from you but teach you even more. That motivated me to work as an Au pair in Bardufoss, the north of Norway for 10 months. I lived there with a norwegian family and participated into the housework including cooking and cleaning, watching the 3 year old son and taking care of the dog. The experience showed me that I want to see other countries too and especially the way of living there, including working. While being in Norway the opportunity to be a german teacher in the local high school in Bardufoss was offered to me which made me teaching my mothertongue german for 6 months to the 8th, 9th and 10th grade there. Apart from that I do speak english and german fluently and norwegian on an intermediate level. I am genuinely interested in learning languages and the cultural aspect that every language carries with itself. Currently I am working as a language teacher for English at a kindergarten and german at a language institute for adults. This work once again showed me how much I enjoy being creative in my job and create new interesting thngs and lesson plans for others to enjoy. My students already know that every lesson starts with a little game and some laughter to set the right mood.
I am experienced in working with children from 2 to 16 years old in various education forms as kindergarten, school, summercamps or language courses, as well as baby sitting and volunteering work.
During my time working in a Hostel in Estonia I was able to grow my social skills and experienced what it is like to live with different people from all around the world together in one house, learning about their culture and way of living. I quickly fell in love with it and found a lot of friends that could tell amazing stories. I also got to know what it is like to be a host for others and made my first steps into the tourism scene for example while helping out guests at the reception, giving tips about the town and cleaning the rooms after they leave. I felt the same enthusiasm about my work as cleaning staff at a watersportresort in germany which meant I was daily cleaning the sanitary facilities around the place and vacation cottages for the guests that stay longer, after they left.
In the past year I found another passion in the work with animals and understanding them. Growing up in a smaller town with animals around helped me to appreciate them and their different characteristics. I would like to learn more about the work with them and how to properly take care of different kinds of animals since I'm thinking of making it my profession. I bring a various set of skills with me when it comes to farmwork from raising lambs with a bottle, over horse training up to building sheds for the winter and fixing fences. Changing weather conditions are never an issue for me and I always put the work as my first priority, especially when it comes to taking care of animals or others.
I can accomplish tasks well thought out and structured with no missed deadlines while I appreciate a good communication and feedback culture to improve my own way of working. When a problem comes up I can be initiative and try to solve it in a creative way but am at the same time not afraid to ask for help.
