My first workaway was in Sweden, and to cut a long story short, I loved the place so much that I bought a run-down house there! My intention was to park Workaway for a couple of years while I make it habitable, then perhaps do some visits from there, or just semi-retire and do the other countries farther away. Not sure yet. So, sadly I'm not currently looking for any placements while I sort out my house in Sweden.

But here's my profile anyway:
Having recently become single and now over the tender ago of 60, I have discovered that connecting with people has never meant more to me. As a very practical, qualified multi-discipline engineer (predominantly within the renewables industry) I have a lot to offer (see below).
I get a lot of pleasure out of building and fixing things, so if I can do so in some amazing locations with some lovely people, then that sounds like the valuable experience I seek.
I'm the complete opposite of a beach-bum, always wanting to be active and inquisitive wherever I go.
I work well in teams and consider myself pretty sociable. I love a good debate where collectively we are "putting the world to rights".
I am lucky to have reaching this old(er) age without any significant health problems, and believe that keeping fit and active is the key to longevity.
I'm very much looking forward to sharing my skills with those who might need them.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I'm a very experienced (over 36 years!) multi-role engineer who has worked in varied disciplines, and in doing so has learned many practical and academic skills.
Currently operating in the renewable energy field, installing, repairing and servicing heat pumps, solar PV and solar thermal systems (but good, practical knowledge of the other renewable energy technologies).
Fully qualified Chartered Electrical and Electronics engineer.
Very practical and used to safely operating powered and hand tooling.
Can repair and maintain my own vehicles.
Unusually, I am also very academic and consider myself pretty good at understanding how things work and what they need to fix or improve them.
Dare I say it, I consider myself pretty useful :) (in all my years, it's exceptionally rare for me to pay someone to fix anything for me).

I love talking to people, so I can't think of any better way to relax than to chat with a few people over a glass of wine, putting the world to rights.
Having become mad on renewables from a tender age, I'm very tuned into "Eco living" and the challenges the world is having to endure right now.
I have a variety of hobbies and sports interests, such as computing (coding), car maintenance, boating, shooting & archery and golf.
