I love to be outside. At home and in my travels, I find ways I can interact with nature. I enjoy birding, photography, drawing, painting, and writing stories and poetry. My imagination is constantly active, and I am always excited to learn new ways to be creative. My family has taken many road trips across the United States, which has given me a love for exploration. Traveling to Iceland in the summer of 2023 inspired me to continually seek out new landscapes and to follow my dreams. While I am working toward being a professional conservationist, foremost I hope to be happy and to develop my skills in the context of a new adventure.

Quais são suas habilidades?

Since I was a child, I have loved to read books about birds and about the natural world. The years I spent in school at Brigham Young University has only augmented that. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Biodiversity and Conservation, and with extensive knowledge of reading and writing scientific journal articles.

In my free time I do lots of creative writing. I have written novel-length works, short stories, and poems. I also engage myself with many kinds of crafts. I have experimented with embroidery, jewelry, and making clothes. My greatest strengths lie in the realm of visual art. I have received awards in high school for my watercolors, and I am now selling prints of my paintings online. I also paint in oils and acrylics. Digital art is another medium I am fond of.

Many years of birding have given me an extensive knowledge of bird identification. I am accomplished at identifying many North American birds by sight and sound, and now I would like to get acquainted with more of the world's birds. I have not had experience in handling birds, but I have had several other kinds of animals for pets, including a cat. Cats and I get along very well.

I love reading nonfiction/naturalist books, and I enjoy watching documentaries and science fiction movies. Some other random hobbies of mine are stargazing, listening to calming/atmospheric music, and collecting stuffed animals.
