Hi everyone, I am Jelle, currently living in city of The Hague in The Netherlands. I have just graduated from the International public policy and leadership bachelor program at the Hague University of Applied Sciences. This program has made me see the world in a new light and it has mad me anxious to experience everything it has to offer.

A friend introduced me to work away and I was immediately sold on the idea. I love travelling but always feel like it is so hard to actually immerse yourself in a countries culture and people, something I really love doing. The opportunities Work away brings to achieve this immersion and at the same time allow me to help so many different people, are great!

I am a politically active individual who is obsessed with geopolitics, sustainability and societal improvement. I always like to think big and be ambitious, whilst at the same time I adore the quiet and contemplative moments in my life. These allow me to keep focusing on what I am actually passionate about. I therefore love farm work, being in nature and working with my hands to get things done. Whilst at the same time I know my way around technology. I love investing myself into a project and only stopping when the entire job is done, whatever it takes.

Personally, I love reading. In particular I love deep fantasy and space opera's. At the same time I also like to read books with social commentary or poetry. I am a very active person who has done multiple sports like Korfball and Athletics. Currently, I am playing lacrosse.

I am looking forward to getting my hands dirty, seeing a lot of beautiful places and meeting wonderful people.

Quais são suas habilidades?

As mentioned in my profile description, I love working in nature. I have often done volunteering work or helped family and friends who own farms or large plots of land. I do not mind dirty work and have experience working with animals such as cows and sheep. I have also often done volunteering work that involved working with children (at schools or sport clubs for example) or assisting refugees (language coaching for example). At the same time I have also often held leadership positions and have experience with taking hard decisions.

I am a very quick learner and love investing time to get good a something. I am a very focused worker and my dad (as a engineer) has made sure to instill me with lots of technological know how. Even when I am a rookie in something, I just love the learning process. Therefore, I feel like I will be ready for anything a work away experience throws at me!

I am an extremely curious person, I love doing things for the first time. I also love talking about subjects I am passionate about. In sports and playing games I am very competitive, but never too competitive.

I just love learning and experiencing things. If that is possible at a work away then I already know I am going to have a wonderful time!
