Hi! I’m Eva. I'm a Mexican-American living in SLC, Utah, USA. Living in Utah has made me fall in love with national parks and the outdoors. I also enjoy spending time baking, cooking, reading, studying film, playing drums, crafting, and music.

I'm excited to finally be able to participate in programs like Workaway. I've always wanted to travel the world but don't want to just sight see big tourist spots (not that there's anything wrong with that). I want to be able to help people however I can and I'm glad I can try to do that here while seeing and learning about all these beautiful places. I'm here for every kind of experience and learning opportunity. I really enjoy meeting people and being able to listen to their stories and perspectives. I like leaving with something new to ponder and explore.

I've always had to take care of my home as most of my family is very busy either with jobs or other commitments. I'm great with cleaning dishes/cookware, doing the laundry, and general upkeep and cleaning such as sweeping, vacuuming, organizing, etc. I cook and bake often for my family as I really enjoy it. I also take care of our vegetable, fruit, and flower garden with weeding, sowing, and daily watering. I love working outside, especially with animals. I've worked with dogs and cats of course, but also with horses; cleaning their stalls and hooves. I'm not afraid of some good old fashioned manual labor as that's what I do best and have the most experience with.

As for my professional experience, I worked 2 years in food service. I had a persistent schedule and worked 7 hour shifts. I am used to working longer hours, being depended on, and having daily responsibilities that I have to fulfill. My conflict resolution skills were also greatly improved by that job. I took care of prepping food, serving, cleaning, and unloading and organizing the truck delivery as well.

I was also employed at my local children's theater for 4 years. I was a student at the time but was offered to teach the younger classes of children 6-14. I taught them dancing, singing, and directed them on stage. I was able to learn a lot about care-taking for children and the diversity that goes into it with different kinds of kids. Such as different ways to communicate with them, physical needs, mental needs, and how they would like to play or relax. As well as how to keep them focused and involved while still having fun. I love working with kids, I especially admire their endless curiosity and excitement!

I'm incredibly open-minded, empathetic, a hard worker and really strive to learn, grow, and help however I can while traveling so if that's what you're looking for I'm your girl!
