Hi! I’m an experienced American traveler looking for longer-term placement in Spain (months, not weeks), available now. I’m new to Workaway, but I’ve lived abroad for much of my adult life. I’m a native English speaker with beginner Spanish, and prefer the nature/countryside over city life.

On the work side, I have a deep background in organic and sustainable farming. I’m happiest when there’s land to improve and problems to solve. I’ve developed raw land into productive farms and have led the day-to-day operations across row crops, orchards, and nurseries (from conventional systems to more exotic crops). I have worked the full nursery lifecycle: propagation, grafting, and the consistent daily care that keeps young plants thriving.

If you have surplus produce, I can also help with the practical “after-harvest” side: wash/pack, storage, logistics and sales channels - but I’m just as happy when the goal is simply: “Let’s make this place healthy, productive, and beautiful.”

On the human side, I come from a multicultural background, and I really value kindness, clear communication, and a warm, safe home environment. I’m easygoing and settle in quickly. I’m a minimalist (lived out of a carry-on for years), I’ve lived in co-op/commune-style setups, and I’ve done my share of van life - so I’m considerate with shared space, water use, and limited resources. I’m content on my own with a quiet place to read, meditate, write, or work - and while I don’t need to be entertained, I love shared meals as a point of connection and cultural exchange. I’m also happy to help with cooking and prep :)

Outside of work and traveling, I enjoy animals (including sanctuary experience with a variety of species), staying active (workouts and team sports), and low-key nights with card or strategy games. I work best with variety - rotating between projects rather than doing the same tasks every day. A private room is ideal, and I’ll need reliable internet for a few hours a week of emails/calls.

GOOD FIT / BOUNDARY: best fit is a mix of land improvements and daily farm or household needs. I am not looking for heavy machinery or major construction work.

In my free time I like staying active, hiking/backpacking, and reading. I also practice meditation and generally enjoy a calm, healthy routine.

I’m a natural night owl, but I’m reliable with schedules and respectful of quiet hours. Most evenings I’m pretty low-key.

I don’t smoke or drink. I keep spaces tidy as I go and look to leave things better than I found them.

I find it rewarding to coach or teach when it’s helpful, whether that’s English, a sport/game, or sharing skills on a project. I have coached youth sports and enjoy interacting with kids of all ages.
