Hi! We're Alex and Daniel, two 19-year-olds from Washington, D.C. who have been friends throughout high school and are now using Workaway to gain new experiences and meet new friends!
We're curious, open-minded, and always looking for an adventure. We try to put ourselves in new situations where we're exposed to new cultures, people, and ways of life; Workaway is just another way we're doing this!

Hobbies/Interests:

Daniel
- Cooking: I love cooking for my family/friends and would enjoy sharing my cooking. I also have some experience cooking in professional kitchens. Food has always been one of my favorite ways to connect with people.
- Photography: I do film photography and will definitely have a camera with me wherever I go. I'd be more than happy to share the pictures I take!
- Biking: I might use my bike more than my legs!
- Outdoors: Much of my childhood was spent outdoors as result of scouting. I love the outdoors, and many of my formative memories have been in the outdoors.

Alex
- History: I've spent most my life very interested in history and how our past has shaped who we are today and the connections we make.
- Thrifting/collecting: I enjoy collecting unique finds from estate sales and secondhand shops. I keep some of them, but I try to gift as many as I can.
- Cooking: I use cooking as way to get in touch with my community. I started a small crepe where I served food to community at a local farmers market.

We're drawn to Workaway because it brings together everything we value: cultural exchange, community, meaningful work, and the chance to discover places in the world that we might not otherwise reach. We're excited by the idea of helping others with something bigger than us while also learning from them.

We're excited to help with cooking, cleaning, outdoor projects, or just to share stories and laughs over a meal!

Quais são suas habilidades?

We're both excited to learn new things and do unfamiliar things, that's a big part of why we're doing Workaway! That said here is some of the relevant work we've done. 

Daniel
I've volunteered for several environmental non-profits in Washington, D.C. and Cleveland, OH and even organized a service project that helped revitalize a section of the Anacostia River in D.C.

Alex
I've spent time working with Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit helping build and repair homes for families in need. I also took part in an archaeological dig in Sicily.
