Hello, I'm Cristina! I'm 21 and I just finished my bachelor in Psychology, in Milan, where I live with my family.
For this upcoming year, I decided to take a break from my studies and spend these following months exploring the world and myself, especially by doing some volunteering in new environments. Travelling has always been an important part of my thoughts and my life, since I really like knowing about different cultures and meeting people from all over the world.
I'm looking for experiences that will allow me to live in a different way from what I'm used to, to meet people that will enrich me, adding a piece that is able to change my perspective. At the same time I want to spend my energy helping others, to give my small contribution at making the world a happier place :)

During this month, I'm specifically looking for a Workaway with two of my friends, Ral and Amélie. We met during my last volunteering experience in Rome, that was about gardening, and we decided to persue our adventures together, if it's possible. Finding a workaway together is our wish, but we don't want our choice to impede the possibility of finding a host. That's why I would like you to answer me and tell me if you are not able to host more than 1 or 2 workawayers, rather than rejecting my offer at once: we can talk about it and plan a solution that is good for everyone!!

Now that I said what I'm looking for, here is a small description of me :)
Besides studying Psychology, I'm also learning natural horsemanship, which I'm appreciating a lot, and I really enjoy cooking, both Italian tradition and international meals, but I always make them healthy and vegetarian.
Furthermore, I really like spending time in nature, so I would be happy to have the chance of leaving for a while in a natural and relaxed enrivonment, where I can live a bit 'off grid' and reconnect with the simplest version of myself. I also practice yoga, more regularly in the past, occasionally now.
Lastly, I would describe myself as a person attracted to sociality and valuable connections with others, but I'm also enjoying moments of thoughts on my own. I appreciate listening to others' stories, and I often feel that I want to try at making other people feeling comfortable and listened to.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I like spending time with kids, since I volounteered a lot in the past few years, doing afterschool activities with teenagers and play days with children from group homes for orphanes, and I also used to babysit twice a week, with two children aged 3 and 5.

As I said in my description, I like cooking a lot, especially trying out new dishes and sometimes using my imagination. I am a vegetarian and I believe in the importance of a healthier and more sustainable diet, so I always try to learn how to cook dishes that are plant based and with local and seasonal foods.

When I was little I practised horse riding for a few years, and I just started again! With a course in natural horsemanship, one year ago.
In my last Workaway I was in a horse farm, so I gained some experience in stable work, such as cleaning paddocks and fields where horses live.
Later, as a teenager, I practised tennis, athletics and swimming.

Also, I'm quite an active person. I really enjoy nature, so I often try to spend some time surrounded by it, from small walks, to day trips, and also a whole walk trip once (I did 4 days of Via Francigena last September). That's why I think I might handle jobs that require working outside for many hours or where some strenght is essential. In my last volunteering activity I participated into some gardening tasks, so I gathered some experience in it and I realized that I enjoy it. Specifically, I had to take care of a garden, building boxes and terraces for plants, removing weeds and cleaning the paths.

Although I have not yet acquired many practical skills, I am an extremely curious person who is motivated to learn new skills and knowledge, not only out of a sense of duty, but also out of a personal interest!

Finally I'll also add that for this Christmas, me and my family are going to Colombia, to finally get to know some people that we wanted to meet for a long time. With the aim of making my interaction with them richer, I would like to improve my knowledge in Spanish (which I'm learning right now with an online course). For this reason, I would like to spend the month of November, and part of December, in Spain!
