Descrição

We are two best friends travelling to Iceland to find a job and explore this beautiful land. We know each other since college and we now work together in a school.

About Barbora:
I am an open-minded, kind, friendly girl from Prague, Czech Republic who seeks new cultural experiences, new job experiences, a bit of adventure, and most importantly personal growth.
I love traveling. It gives me opportunity to meet new people, new cultures, which then introduces me to new perspectives on life. I also like helping people and learning/trying new things. I am looking to broaden my horizons.
I am interested in listening to music, singing, dancing, reading, writing stories, coffee, maté, hiking, yoga, meditation, and languages. I want to improve my Spanish.
I studied and worked as an English teacher and social worker. I like working as an English teacher, but I want to try also other jobs, so I would become a more well-rounded person.
My mission is to learn how to live more ecologically and when I get back I want to teach students about it, so they are prepared for the challenges that the future holds. My other mission is to be a happy and positive person who lives in the moment and shares her happiness with others.

About Tereza:
I am managing my own ceramics studio with courses for children and adults. I am also working in a private alternative school (the same as Barbora) as an after-school educator and assistant. I love nature, animals, and hiking. I am also a good driver (manual car).

We are very nice, hard-working, and grateful, just give us a chance.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I have a Master's degree in pedagogy - teaching English and Czech language and literature. I have also a Master's degree in social pedagogy, which is similar to social work.
I am an English teacher, I am currently employed in elementary school where I teach languages and project-based learning (psychology, ecology, art,..). I also work as an afterschool educator. Before I worked for two years in high school (students were 15-19 years old).
I used workaway in Ecuador and Colombia in 2021-2022. I worked on a farm and a hostel in Ecuador and then I travelled to Colombia and worked there in a hostel. I have an experience in gardening, taking care of animals, physical labour, receptionist skills, answering calls and communication with guests, organizing events for the guests, housekeeping, helping out in the kitchen.
I also volunteered in Cambodia (2017), teaching English to poor children and also helping with improving the school (painting, organizing materials, cleaning). I also volunteered and worked with old people, people in a wheelchair, people with a mental handicap, homeless people.
I had part-time jobs as a housekeeper, a dishwasher, a waitress, a sales assistant, a barista.
I speak Czech and English fluently. I speak intermediate Spanish and a little bit of French.
