Hello! My name is Alma, and I am a third year philosophy student at university in England. Ivy is my younger sister who has just graduated from sixth form college, and we are 20 and 19 respectively. Our family is a melting pot of English, Danish and German, and we have always grown up around the joy of experiencing other cultures. We are in the process of getting my Danish citizenship, and so are learning the language, which is something we both find hugely enjoyable - we have in the past studied both German and Spanish.

Outside of language and cultural exchange, I have a big love for learning, and have chosen to study philosophy as a mechanism to become more in tune with the world we inhabit. I also have a love for most things creative. I am a huge reader, and also enjoy producing my own art, whether this is through guitar, drawing, or cooking.

Ivy is also very curious with a love for learning and travel. She has just begun her gap year before enrolling in university to study psychology. On her gap year, she plans to interrail around Europe, immersing herself in the culture and working in the countries she will stay in in order to fully experience life in that country. She is also very creative and sporty, and has been both a dancer and a gymnast (representing team GB) for all of her life.

We have both been raised as passionate environmental activists, and have been involved in the Green Party and also in independent protest with movements such as XR since we were young. We believe there is nothing more important than the world which sustains us, and find beauty in doing as much as we can to protect it - whether this by taking steps in our own lives, or by raising awareness, two things which we have dedicated much of our time to.

I have some experience teaching English to younger children, and would enjoy being able to share this. Both Ivy and I are also learning Danish, and so would be interested in using this experience as a chance to practice this.

Quais são suas habilidades?

Having worked both in Green Party Creches and as a short term au pair for a 4 year old child, I have experience of looking after, working with and also informally teaching children. I have experience cooking for large groups, having hosted groups of 12 in my home previously, where I was responsible both for meals and upkeep of a house which is holding a larger group. Living alone as a student, I am proficient at the general maintenance required to keep homes and particularly communal spaces in running order. I have been around horses for much of my childhood, and am proficient at the care required for horses and other such animals. I am also creative and good with my hands, and will be helpful with more creative projects such as building and decorating.

Ivy shares much of the same skills, and also has particular experience teaching sports to younger children.

Ivy and I both enjoy and regularly play board games and card games. I have a particular interest in music, and Ivy has a particular interest in dance. I have a large collection of plants which I enjoy taking care of. We are also both avid swimmers, having grown up by the sea.
