Biagio volunteered here and made an outstanding, lasting impact. He taught English to students in rural areas with patience, energy, and creativity, quickly building strong relationships with both students and staff. Beyond his teaching duties, Biagio noticed several bright children who could not continue because their families couldn’t afford the small school fees. He took the initiative to raise funds and set up school sponsorships so those students could stay in class and keep learning. His compassion, reliability, and hands-on approach went far beyond what we expected from a short-term volunteer. Biagio is respectful, adaptable, and always willing to help wherever needed. He communicates clearly, shows great cultural sensitivity, and brings a positive, can-do attitude every day. We’re deeply grateful for his contribution — he helped change lives and strengthened our community. Any project would be lucky to welcome him. Highly recommended!

Ida came to our farm as a volunteer not just once, but twice, and each time she became a true part of our family. She is a very kind-hearted and gentle person who brings positive energy everywhere. She helped us in cooking, planting, harvesting, and cleaning with great care and responsibility. She always showed respect, love, and dedication in every task. We really enjoyed her company and felt very comfortable with her. Ida is a wonderful human being, and we highly recommend her 100% to any host. We truly hope to see her again.

Naomi and Shira stayed with us for about two weeks. They are both very relaxed and creative people. Naomi is a very talented artist, and the painting she created on wood was truly beautiful. Shira made a special type of Israeli bread for us, and our daughter even said it was “the best bread in the world”! They also built a storage box for our living room as a DIY project. This wasn’t something we asked for—they came up with the idea themselves to make the space easier to organize. From design to construction, they completed it in a short time and created something truly wonderful. They also helped us with physical work, including cutting small trees, and handled many tasks with great effort. During their stay, we had shared meals together, and they took the lead in cooking. They were very thoughtful about what could be made with the available ingredients and always prepared delicious meals. They even made pita bread from scratch, which allowed us all to share and enjoy Israeli culture together. We also shared many lovely moments—having bonfires, doing stretching together, and playing with our daughter. Thank you so much for coming and spending time with us. We wish you both a wonderful journey ahead!

We had Matteo stay with us for 3 weeks. He was a pleasure to have around. He got stuck into lots of manual digging for our new toilets then tried his hand with some carpentry building us a surf rack. Overall vibes were great and I'd recommend him to any project big or small.

They were a delight to have, I only wish they had stayed longer! These are the best and nicest workers you will find.

My experience was calm and a bit different from what I expected, partly because of the time of year I visited (a lot of rain), which changed the type of activities. Instead of gardening, I mostly helped with more manual tasks in the house, so I would recommend asking in detail beforehand to have clear expectations and read thoroughly what Heico has written in the description. Heico is someone you can have interesting conversations with, especially about sustainability but also about movies and music. His project truly reflects the idea of “going back to the basics,” which can be very meaningful if you are looking for a more grounded and simple lifestyle experience. When it comes to the work, he has a clear way of how he likes things to be done and tends to guide tasks closely, depending on your personality, this can feel either comfortable or a bit challenging. At the same time, he is flexible in aspects like timing and resting. The experience is quite authentic in the sense living conditions are simple (for example, a compost toilet), and the work can be physically demanding, so it may not be for everyone, especially if you are looking for something more comfortable. I visited during the rainy season, so things were quieter and there was less interaction with other people, but I still had the chance to explore the surroundings, which are very beautiful, and spend time with Ripley and Chomsky, who are very friendly. Overall, it can be a meaningful experience if you connect with this kind of lifestyle and come with openness and flexibility.

Manuel was a great fit and a very helpful presence on the farm. Although his stay was short, he completed every task to our full satisfaction and demonstrated a strong work ethic throughout. Thanks to his prior experience with farm work, he quickly understood what needed to be done and carried out tasks efficiently. He also got along very well with everyone here, making him a pleasure to have around. He will always be welcome back!

Maicol fue un voluntario excepcional y superó completamente todas nuestras expectativas durante su estadía. Desde el primer día demostró una actitud proactiva, gran responsabilidad y una disposición increíble para ayudar en todo lo que fuera necesario dentro del hostal. Se adaptó muy rápido a la dinámica de trabajo y siempre cumplió sus tareas con un nivel de detalle y calidad destacable, ya sea en limpieza, organización, apoyo a los huéspedes o en labores generales. Algo que realmente lo diferencia es su capacidad de anticiparse a las necesidades, sin necesidad de que se le estén dando instrucciones constantemente. Además, es una persona muy respetuosa, positiva y fácil de llevar, lo que hizo que encajara perfectamente tanto con el equipo como con los huéspedes, generando un ambiente muy grato en todo momento. Tiene excelente comunicación, trabaja de forma eficiente y mantiene una actitud impecable incluso en momentos de mayor carga laboral. Sin duda, recomiendo a Maicol al 100% para cualquier anfitrión en Workaway. Es una persona confiable, comprometida y con muchas ganas de hacer las cosas bien. Elisa and I stayed with Cam & Bill for 3 weeks and really enjoyed our time here. Types of work varied from day to day and ranged from house keeping to outdoor maintenance. A real highlight was getting to day trip with everyone up to the wombat sanctuary for some volunteer work! Bill and Cam are very fine people and made us feel welcome from the start. The accommodations are really nice - they have multiple rooms available and a really cool shack which is a great hangout spot! There are a ton of absolutely gorgeous beaches in the area. Bill and Cam let us borrow their car so we did a lot of beach trips as well as excursions to the nearby town of Ulladulla which we definitely recommend checking out. If you are down to put some work in and can hold your own, this would be a good place for you!

Jessie ha sido una excelente voluntaria a pesar de ser este su primer workaway. Amable, comunicativa, dispuesta a hacer cualquier trabajo que le encomendé, cuidó de mis perritos como si fueran suyos. Cuidó mi casa y mascotas mientras me ausenté 3 dias sin problema. Un placer haberla recibido.

I had a great 2 weeks at Frans place, the location is beautiful with great walks on your doorstop. I really enjoyed the work which involved mainly garden maintenance, some house keeping and pet care. Fran has two fantastic pets, coco the lab and amber the house cat. I really enjoyed taking out Coco everyday, she is such a lovely natured dog. Fran was very kind and dropped me off at one of the famous walks nearby, and really enjoyed chatting to her in the evening about her work. A great workaway experience, thank you Fran

Yo pasé casi 2 semanas con Vale, y fue increíble. Primero, Vale es una mujer muy amable y interesante, y me gustó mucho conocerla y aprender de su vida. Aprendí muchas palabras Chilenas también :). Su casa está colocada en un lugar maravilloso, con árboles de manzana, membrillo, higo, ciruela, y más. Sus trés perritos son muy amables. El trabajo era muy manejable. Yo hice tareas como colocar mosquiteras, podar arbustos, quitar malas hierbas, retirar la fruta caída, y limpiar la piscina. También le ayudé con hacer puré de manzana. Afuera de las tareas, me aproveché mucho de dormir mucho, hornear, y recargar las baterías después de viajar para 3 meses. Ahora me siento lista para continuar. Muchas gracias por todo, Vale!

I loved my stay here! Such a great project with great people in a magic location. After a long time travelling it was so nice to stay a few weeks with a daily routine, surfing in the morning (walk to the beach is beautiful even if a bit far, 30' to the water), manual work for the hostel, great meals everyday and then chill in the evening with the sound of nature around. The team I was working with was very dynamic and everyone wanted to help as much as they could. There was no strict schedule and as many breaks as you want, doing as much as you can but everyone was giving the maximum. The project evolved very quickly when I was there, mainly working on the new dorm but could also do some side missions when not needed in the main task such as a surf rack I designed and produced one day. Anyway, I would definitely recommend this place if you want to help a great project, do some manual work and find some peace with routine and nice people.

What a treat it was to be able to help out in the household of Daniela, Ray and, of course, Konnie. I felt completely at home and the whole atmosphere was wonderful. I was absolutely delighted that I was able to stay for longer. Daniela and Ray are incredibly kind and do everything they can to ensure you have a fantastic stay. Konnie is such a lovely, sweet girl and great fun to play with. The food is fantastic; Ray is such a brilliant cook. The work is really enjoyable and they do their best to give you the tasks that suit you best. There’s also plenty to do in the local area. You’ll have plenty of time and opportunities to explore. Don’t hesitate to come here – you’re sure to have a fantastic time.

Out of the many volunteers we have hosted, Frank is one of those characters that stands out as one of the favourite/Best, being a dedicated, self-motivation, highly skilled professional with a consistent work ethic. He maintains a youthful vitality that puts most of the other young volunteer to shame. His natural charisma and friendly demeanor make him a joy to be around, and his engaging life experiences bring his unique perspectives that he's gained along the way making him truly wonderful person to meet. Those stories don’t just entertain—they inspire and uplift everyone fortunate enough to listen. His ability to share personal journeys with warmth, fun and a authenticity adds depth to his presence, making him a memorable and cherished figure in any setting.

Valerio and Janis are such sweethearts. They stayed with us for a month and both fit in so very well with our family. They are very easygoing, and nothing is ever a problem for them. The lads helped tidy up our second house after renovations and always worked on their own initiative. They were an amazing help at home — I was able to leave all the cooking to them, and they created awesome dishes and cakes. They also took care of the laundry and generally picked things up very quickly. They are trustworthy and always ready to help with whatever is needed, or simply just hangig around — whether that was reading, chatting, or playing board games. They truly immersed themselves in our family life, and we all felt like they were part of it. They took a massive load off my shoulders, allowing me to be a happier, more present mum to my boys. And moreover they have had me practicing the fussball even though the conditions were sometimes unfavourable. <3 They both love the outdoors, enjoy hiking, and are very capable of looking after themselves Such an amazing pair — we, our friends, our neighbours and most of all my kids loved them. Highly recommend them!

Although It was only for 12 days, it was great to have Alyssa here. Regardless of her skills, she was always eager for learning new stuff, including Portuguese! Also, Alyssa is one of those beings that does her best to be a better version of herself. Even sometimes when there was some noise in the communication (normal human language and social differences), Alyssa shown humbleness and openness for listening, accepting, improving and sharing her perspective. I highly recommend her and hope that our paths may cross again. Abraço e até breve...

Annika war 6 Wochen im Februar und März bei mir. Sie hat die zu verrichteten Aufgaben schnell gelernt und selbstständig ausgeführt. Mit den Hunden kam sie sofort super zurecht und ihre Begeisterung für sie war sehr schön zu beobachten. Auch um die Welpen hat sie sich super gekümmert und man konnte ihr schnell vertrauen. Mit ihrer fröhlichen, freundlichen und netten Persönlichkeit hat das Zusammenleben und die Freizeit viel Spaß gemacht und ich wünsche ihr noch tolle weitere Erfahrungen mit Workaway!

What a great experience with both.they could not have been better volunteers in all ways. I highly recommend both of them you will not be disappointed
