Marius was an excellent workaway. He was very pleasent and polite young man who was eager to learn and try new things . He was independant in working ,using his own judgement when necessary on what to do.He worked hard cleaned up after him and left everywhere tidy. We would have him back tomorrow if he wanted he always has a place here if he wants it. Good luck with your plans/dreams Marius all the best for the future Jane and Alan

What a beautiful family! Annamaria, Samuele, and Hermes were very welcoming. Gardening was straightforward and I honestly looked forward to it and seeing the chickens and geese. Annamaria included me in meals and is lovely to chat with.

We stayed at this incredible workaway last summer - apologies it's taken so long to give feedback but here it is! The place is magical, the people are kind-hearted and genuine and the project is very well-run. There is so much to learn here, we were blown away by the work and intention that's been put into the retreat centre. We felt very well looked-after as volunteers. A retreat was on at the time so we helped in the background with daily cleaning and maintenance tasks, all of which were well-outlined and organised and we had a lot of fun doing them. The environment made the tasks feel meditative - it was all very peaceful and achievable. Our hours were set in advance so we didn't work over the asked time, and we could easily organise excursions etc. We loved the accomodation, and the lovely little volunteers kitchen! There was always ample ingredients for cooking and sharing food with the other volunteers.. and we were very lucky to get exquisite leftovers from the retreat kitchen yummmm. It was lots of fun hanging out with the other workawayers, exploring this gorgeous area (the waterfall is stunning and you can paddleboard down the river too), swimming and lounging in the riverside hammocks. When the guests weren't using the yoga shalas, we were free to practice yoga there. A wonderful experience, highly recommend!

I stayed at Birgitta’s home for three months, from January to March. Her house and garden are very spacious, and it’s located in a quiet residential area, which made it a really comfortable place to live. My tasks included shoveling snow, cleaning, and stacking firewood for the fireplace. She also took me to many different places, such as local gatherings, a friend’s birthday party, and concerts. She even invited me to join a theater party as a performer, which was a unique and memorable experience. All of these were truly wonderful experiences‼︎ On top of that, her cooking was always delicious. She also prepared traditional Finnish dishes for special occasions, which gave me a deeper understanding of Finnish culture. Overall, my three months there were a very meaningful and positive experience!

It was a pleasure to welcome Thierry to my home. He is a really cautious, discreet and respectful man. We had a great time together and shared many discussions. I wish him the best and recommend him to hosts!

Our experience here was truly incredible. We spent a few wonderful weeks with Ian and Julia, who made us feel right at home. Some of the tasks we did included pruning olive trees, gardening, painting, chopping firewood, general cleaning, etc. The days are very enjoyable, and there are always breaks in between to have a snack or a meal and chat with Ian and Julia. We shared most of the tasks with Ian, who has a great sense of humor and plenty of patience for explaining the different tasks we needed to do each day. We were able to practice our English and they practiced their Spanish with us, which added great value to the experience. All the meals were simply incredible, cooked by Julia herself. They were always attentive to making sure we had enough food and everything we needed in the house. Both workdays and days off are very flexible, so you can easily arrange a visit to Alicante or a nearby town. It was a great pleasure to spend three weeks with Ian, Julia, Timothe, Bailey, and Lulu. We definitely recommend them and would be delighted to return. ____________________________________________________________________ Nuestra experiencia sin duda increíble. Pasamos unas semanas Maravillosas junto con Ian y Julia, quienes nos hicieron sentir parte de su acogedor hogar. Alguna de las tareas que hicimos fué la poda de olivos, jardinería, pintura, leña, limpieza general, etc. Las jornadas son super amenas y en el medio siempre hay pausas para tomar/comer algo y compartir charla con Ian y Julia. La mayoría de las tareas las compartimos con Ian, quien tiene un gran sentido del humor y mucha paciencia para explicar las diferentes tareas que tocan hacer cada día. Pudimos practicar nuestro ingles y ellos su español con nosotros lo que le sumó un gran valor a la experiencia. Todas las comidas fueron increíbles, cocinadas de la mano de Julia. Ambos siempre estuvieron atentos a que no nos falte comida, ni nada que necesitáramos en la casa. Los días de trabajo como los días libres son super flexibles, si deseas acomodar algo para organizar una visita a Alicante o algún pueblo cercano. Fué un gran placer pasar 3 semanas con Ian, Julia Timothe, Bailey y Lulu, sin duda los recomendamos y estaremos encantados de poder volver.

Je trouve qu'il est important de laisser un commentaire quand l'expérience WA a été enrichissante alors aussitôt parti je m'empresse d'écrire quelques mots.. Je suis resté dans ce bel endroit environ deux semaines, chez un couple de retraités anglais installé en Bretagne depuis une quinzaine d’années. Ils m’ont mis à l’aise très rapidement. Ils vivent dans une belle maison avec un grand jardin, et j’avais ma propre chambre à l’étage avec salle de bain, ce qui est vraiment top. Jane est une personne très attentionnée, presque maternelle, qui aime prendre soin des gens qu’elle accueille. Alan, lui sait divertir et faire rire les autres. Nous prenions le petit-déjeuner ensemble chaque matin avant de commencer la journée à l’extérieur, principalement consacrée au jardinage. Ce qui m'allait très bien. Dans l'ensemble, j'ai taillé des haies, retourné la terre, planté des oignons ou encore passé la tondeuse. Bref, des activités simples, mais que j’apprécie particulièrement, car elles permettent de s’évader et de se reconnecter à soi. C’est d’ailleurs, selon moi, tout l’intérêt de cette plateforme : offrir un échange équilibré, où un peu d’aide permet aussi de se libérer l’esprit, de se recentrer et parfois de se retrouver. Comme beaucoup de volontaires, je pense, on peut arriver un peu perdu. Et cet endroit est idéal pour se reconnecter au monde et aux autres. Après le jardinage du matin et un bon déjeuner, nous partions souvent en balade pour découvrir les environs. Il y a de très beaux villages à proximité. Ils savent être présents pour échanger, mais aussi respecter ton besoin de tranquillité. Ils ont su comprendre ce dont j’avais besoin à ce moment-là. Cette étape m’a été profondément bénéfique pour avancer et me préparer à la suite. Jane est une excellente cuisinière, toujours aux petits soins, et une femme très courageuse : je tiens à souligner cette qualité. Alan, quant à lui, est toujours partant pour discuter ou partager un moment en racontant des anecdotes sur sa vie passée et il sait mettre les gens à l'aise. C'était vraiment tout ce dont j'avais besoin : un break idéal que je ne regrette absolument pas. Je vous souhaite à tout les 2 pleins de bonnes choses et surtout une longue et belle suite de vies. I stayed with José, Nick and Charlie for three and a half weeks. I had a very good time here. The surroundings are beautiful. The work itself was interesting and I enjoyed it. My tasks changed every couple of days, so it never got boring. I varnished tiles and wood, pruned olive trees, did some cleaning, cut firewood. José, Nick and Charlie are super welcoming. I enjoyed our conversations and the good food they offered. There's plenty of nice hikes, bicycle routes and villages to visit. Thanks a lot!

French: Les mots ne sauraient exprimer mon expérience chez André. Son lieu appartient à un autre monde, un monde plus simple. Il m'a offert un espace accueillant et sécurisant, où il faisait bon simplement « être ». La nourriture y était d'une grande fraîcheur et l'eau, d'une pureté absolue. C'était merveilleux de savoir d'où provenait la source de toute chose. J'ai adoré aller au puits pour y remplir le seau. J'ai adoré la forêt enchantée. J'ai adoré les bains aux bols chantants tibétains qui ont ouvert mon âme. Le travail consistait à organiser, nettoyer, aider à la réalisation d'une mosaïque, donner un coup de main chez un ami à lui et, par-dessus tout, à renouer avec l'esprit et l'amour. Je suis arrivée en ne parlant presque pas le français. Chaque jour, il m'aidait à apprendre de nouvelles expressions et à prononcer correctement les mots. Dans l'ensemble, ce fut une expérience véritablement transformatrice pour moi, et je lui serai éternellement reconnaissante d'avoir croisé sa route. C'est un saint, cela ne fait aucun doute. Je suis repartie le cœur débordant d'amour et de lumière, avec le précieux rappel de rester ancrée dans l'instant présent. Ce lieu magique occupera à jamais une place privilégiée dans mon cœur. Merci, André, du fond du cœur. Eng: Words cannot express my experience at Andre’s. His place is part of a different world, a more simpler world. He provided a welcoming, safe space to just be. The food was so fresh and the water so pure. It was wonderful to know where the source of it all came from. I loved going to the well and filling up the bucket. I loved the magical forest. i loved the tibetan singing bowl baths that opened up my soul. Work consisted of organising, cleaning, helping with a mosaic, helping at his friend’s house and most importantly, coming back to spirit and love. I came barely knowing any French. Everyday, he helped me learn different phrases and how to properly pronounce words. Overall, it was a truly transformative experience for me and I will be forever grateful for having met such him. He’s a Saint, there is no question about it. I left with my heart filled with abundance of love and light and the reminder to stay in the present moment. This magical place will forever hold a special place in my heart. Thank you Andre, from the bottom of my heart.

Alex has lived with us for eight months and has been a total delight. She has been wonderful with our boys who totally love her - and also a genuinely kind, thoughtful, diligent member of the household. She is a great cook and always goes out of her way to help, has been conscientious and just a genuinely lovely human. We will miss her!

Matt spent two weeks with us through Workaway and was a real plus to have around. He pitched in with the garden weeding and general upkeep without needing hand-holding. He also happily joined us on walks and bike rides, which made things feel more like a shared routine than a chore list. Reliable, easygoing, and up for anything, he’d be a solid help for anyone looking for a practical, good-humored guest.

I’m happy to recommend Rune, who stayed with us as a workawayer for two weeks. He joined our daily life here in Alfafara, practiced Spanish with us each day, and quickly picked up enough to handle garden tasks and everyday chat. He helped prune our olive trees, kept up with gardening, and pitched in with cleaning around the house; always reliable and cheerful. Rune’s easygoing attitude and willingness to learn made him a great guest and helper. I’d welcome him back anytime. Best regards.

Alexandra and Jurgen are Workaway volunteers you will never forget. They are dedicated, meticulous, sensitive, very very courageous, and committed to doing a job well, with great care and love. They have really done a job of great quality in our garden and house. Jurgen will enjoy playing Tarzan in your trees :-) Alex Will enjoy to speak French :-) They are truly, truly delightful guests you can meet. They are the BEST WORKAWAY you can find in your Life !!! I had such a wonderful time in Kunja and actually ended up staying a week longer than I had originally planned. Everyone was incredibly friendly and made sure I had everything I needed from the very beginning. I was able to go grocery shopping and cook my own meals, which I really enjoyed. Every now and then we also had delicious meals together with the community, which was always very nice. While I was there, I was the only volunteer, so I had plenty of time to myself. Still, I never felt lonely because there were always many people and children around. Whenever someone went on an outing—for example to Odense or one of the nearby islands—I was often invited to come along. It was also easy to explore the surrounding towns and forests on foot, by bike or train. Many of the children spoke English, so it was easy to communicate and play together. I spent a lot of time outdoors working in the vegetable gardens—planting potatoes and strawberries, spreading compost on the beds, and much more. When the weather was bad, I could take on tasks inside the house. Thank you, Kunja, for the wonderful time! It was so nice to meet you all, and I would love to come again someday :)

Jula is such warm, gentle, caring person. You'll feel at ease with her right away. I loved her presence here in my home, as her personality matches my own very much. She helped me out with mainly cleaning tasks and taking care of my dog which I can easily entrust her with. She is very attuned to animals and her environment. I would certainly host her again if the opportunity ever comes. Thank you Jula!

Staying with Ewan and Berts in Castalla was an amazing experience. I messaged them last minute when I had a change of plans in Alicante, and from one day to the next, I was meeting Ewan and Berts at the beach and going to Berts' parents' house for lunch. I'd never volunteered with a family before, and this was my second ever workaway. I knew that we'd have a good time, but I didn't know what to expect. But from the moment we met, I felt comfortable and welcomed. Ewan is such an awesome person, full of personality, energy and ideas. He always had a good vibe and made me laugh a lot. We invented a new game at the beach called "castle joiosa". Berts is a true gent, he cares a lot about the cultural exchange and together us 3 went to many different places: chocolate factory, different beaches, elephant Mountain, Alcoi. I even was a special guest at Berts english class and did a presentation about Australia. I am really grateful I got to have this experience, it meant a lot to me. Even though I was only there just over a week I feel like I have a home in Castalla. I look forward to staying in touch and meeting again along the way. Come visit me in Tasmania!

We had the most amazing time volunteering at the camp. We got involved with the other staff, Volunteers and all the hostel goers, and made some great memories. Can was a great host and provided everything we needed for a comfortable workaway and stay. Kas is a lovely town to explore and lots to see and do. We will miss the team. Thank you 🙏.

Sara is a beautiful soul. Very kind and loves life. During the month that she stayed with our family her English improved loads, and her confidence in herself and her ability to engage with others both in the house and in the community blossomed. It was I really beautiful journey to have had the pleasure to witness and observe. Sara was eager to learn and loved helping out around the house and cooking family meals. There wasn't anything that she didn't want to try and she thoroughly enjoyed learning new things and activities. Myself and my two children really enjoyed hosting her, we'd highly recommend her for any future host, and we wish her all the best for the future.
